  Description

  We are a registered animal welfare charity in North Eastern Thailand, giving sanctuary to 430+ abused, abandoned, injured & disabled dogs & 90 cats - many of them rescued from the horrific dog meat trade on our borders.
  
  Often taking in the 'unwanted' cases, we take pride in giving all our animals a chance at a better life, even if they might be a bit broken - as such a fair number of our furry family are 'special needs' animals (eg. blind, disabled).
  
  Our facilities include a small veterinary clinic from where we provide basic care and perform small surgeries, as well as a rehabilitation pool for exercising our disabled residents.
  
  As our dearest wish is that these animals get to live life in a forever home, we actively seek and facilitate local & international adoptions.

  Seeing as 95% of our staff are Thai, you are sure to pick up a few Thai words and phrases too.

  We are fiercely dedicated to helping as many animals as possible, but with very limited resources at hand our mission faces very challenges times - we need all the help we can get!
  
  Our ideal volunteer is a passionate, hardworking, motivated and mature (regardless of age) animal enthusiast - someone who is committed, proactive and independent, willing to roll up their sleeves and do what needs to be done, and ready to brave difficult situations - helping at our sanctuary can be emotionally challenging.
  
  We host people from all walks of life - if you can show love to our animals, you are welcome!
  Socialization is one of our biggest needs, so a working knowledge or experience in dog training/behavior and animal handling (eg. moving disabled dogs in & out of wheelchairs, hydrotherapy, enrichment practices, etc.) would be valued bonus. Other ways in which we'd appreciate a helping hand are also things like handyman tasks/ building maintenance, general admin tasks such as maintaining our animal shelter database.
  
  We are also always on the lookout for photographers and/or videographers to carry & promote our message to the world.

  ---– Volunteer Coordinator & Social Media Assistant needed!!! (Accommodation & Meals Provided)---
  
  We are looking for a mature, responsible, and self-motivated person to take on the role of Volunteer Coordinator & Social Media Assistant. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with animals and people, is organized, and feels comfortable living in a rural and sometimes challenging environment.
  
  Main responsibilities:
  
  Coordinate and support international volunteers in their daily tasks
  
  Help maintain a positive and cooperative atmosphere at the shelter
  
  Assist with the daily care of dogs when needed
  
  Take photos and videos and create engaging content for our social media platforms
  
  Communicate updates to the management team
  
  
  Requirements:
  
  Minimum age: 25
  
  Strong sense of responsibility, empathy, and communication
  
  Basic experience in animal care, volunteering, or social media management
  
  Ability to handle hot, humid, and sometimes muddy conditions
  
  Comfortable living in a quiet, remote area
  
  Minimum stay of 2 months

  Important notes about visa
  We are unable to provide any visa sponsorship. Volunteers usually enter Thailand on a 60-day tourist visa, which can be extended for 30 extra days at a local immigration office (total 90 days). Those wishing to stay longer must handle visa runs or apply for a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) at their own expense.

  Hébergement

  The Volunteer House is located in the shelter area.
  We have three rooms - one big shared room with 3 single beds and two smaller room with 2 single beds.
  We also have the option of private bungalows.
  
  The fee is $8/day. This amount covers only food costs. In return, you get 2 meals and for dinner food is available which the volunteer can prepare in the kitchen to cook by themselves. It comes with unlimited drinking water, coffee and use of our pool, communal kitchen and we also have a laundry machine available free of use.

  There is a national park nearby, lake scenery and many hidden villages to discover.
  
  Given our rural location, public transportation (taxis & buses) is limited.
  Transportation for excursion day trips can be pre-arranged.
  
  Please note that travel / health insurance is mandatory to volunteer with us.
