Description
Welcome in Medskogen!
Our new big project creating a home in (North-)Sweden. For some reason we have a weak heart for old houses. So here comes "Amuura's Swedish escape" a beautiful old manison from 1870.
We have bought the 5ha property Autumn 2022. And are at the complete start of getting it back alive after many years of neglection. We will do that in the most ecological way possible! There is one big old main house from 1870, and 5 side buildings, including a quitw big old original farm house, it used to be a self sufficient farm with a brewery, silversmith, farmer and a bakery as well as a wash house!
This will be a work-away where we try to create a space with like minded people and get inspiration from everyone who is coming.
We work max 5hours a day and clean and cook and share meals together.
If you have a passion for any kind of sport you are welcome to share it, we share ours.
What is very important for us, is that you speak out loud what you think and what you would like to change, do or feel like. Any suggestion of how to build what or what should be cool to do are welcome!
We is my Me (Carlotta), my mum, my sister and her two kids. I am not sure if all of us will be around all the time, but i will be there for sure :)

You will learn how to live self sufficient, get experience in building with natural materials like clay. We will share our permaculture gardening experience with you.
Apart from that we have a very beautiful surrounding area with lakes and forests. nature lovers will have plenty space to explorer.
Aide
We will need help in following tasks, but will always be happy to new ideas that could be built up here on the property.
Currently:
-refurb all the windows
-get the house winter proof
Upcoming/ all the time:
-renovating the old main house
(sorting the old furniture, painting, rebuilt the kitchen, repairing old walls, fixing lights, electricity and water)
-cooking and cleaning for the community
-setting up a food forest
-starting a home garden
-gardening
-designing the land following permaculture principles
-building a sauna
-building a pond/lake/ pool
-repairing the old bakery house (we have a separate building with an old stone oven where the bakery used to be)
-setting up a website and social media channel for more like minded people getting notice of our little project
-renovate the small farmers house
.... i guess the list is endless at the moment

Hébergement
You can sleep in one of the guest rooms in the main house. If we get more people you might need to share a room.
But camping and people traveling in a caravan a very welcome too!
