I spent 3 weeks with Marie and Niclas and had a great time!
They care a lot about you and want you to feel comfortable. Most of the time I worked in the morning, so I had time to relax and explore the area in the afternoon. There is no strict time frame so it is very flexible if you want to do something or have a day off. The work was not too

Marie gave me the opportunity to join her for a ride in the forest a few times and I enjoyed it so much. It is a beautiful forest just on their doorstep. She even gave me a riding lesson and I could learn something about dressage. She taught me a lot about horses and how to handle them in a nice way. Niclas taught me swedish and told me a lot about (swedish) history. They went with me on an antike flea market and a midsommar celebration so I could experience the swedish lifestyle and culture.
Marie cook very delicious and healthy meals. I will definitely try several of her dishes when I am back home.

I enjoyed wonderful four weeks at Marie’s and Niclas’ farm from midst of June onwards. I felt welcome from the moment I arrived at the farm and they both made sure that I feel at home and have everything I need. Having the cute retro-flat for myself was a really pleasant experience since I had a lot of personal space to calm down and do some

Also, I loved spending time at dinner together and being welcomed to family gathering, which also were a great occasion to improve my Swedish skills :D. Marie has amazing cooking skills, and it was great to create vegan meals together.
Working on the farm and caring for the horses was an awesome experience for me. Marie made sure it was a good mix of some cleaning out the stables and fields and having fun with brushing the horses (which was my favorite task as you could tell :D). I quickly developed and enjoyed my morning routine with giving water to all of the horses and doing stable work. In all of that, it was great that I could freely decide when I want to start working and when to take a break. Also, Marie was always open when I wanted to take a day off to visit Gothenburg, the archipelago or Borås. Close to the farm (about 1 km) is also a lake, where you can swim – a great activity on warm summer days. Also, there is a small pond on the farm, where we also went in one day – that was fun!
During my time, I learned about French Classical Riding in connection with natural horsemanship. Marie is very passionate and can teach you a lot – she gave me some lessons in riding and groundwork, we went for several riding trips into the forest, and I enjoyed seeing how Marie trains the young horses, who are still wild and have a lot of energy. The most special highlight for me was the birth of the foal and being able to see its first steps and hops into the world.
Overall, I had an amazing time at Marie’s and Niclas’ place and I would love to come back another time. Thank you so much for everything!

I stayed for only two weeks in december 2023 and then I came back in april 2023 for three more weeks. Both times were amazing, but very different. During the winter the work was a little bit more challenging, because of the cold temperatures. I loved the snow and the darkness though!
I was so happy to go back in april, because my host cancelled
… read more last minute. I contacted Marie again and she said that I was welcome back. This time there was another volunteer and we got along very well. It was so nice to work together and go on little adventures.
The horses are amazing! I fell in love with every single one of them, especially the baby horse :) I could watch them play forever, it is the most adorable thing ever.
Marie and Niclas are very nice people, and I really felt a part of their family during the time I was there. Marie also knows so much about horses and other animals, so it was really interesting to talk to her. She even let me ride one of the horses and explained a lot of things like how to lead and groom a horse. Also, her cooking is amazing!
Thank you so much! Hope to see you again one day :)Vous pouvez seulement contacter les workawayers avec une adhésion active.
