CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR WORKAWAYERS FROM THE BEGINNING OF DECEMBER FOR GENERAL GARDEN WORK, STARTING A PERMACULTURE FOOD GARDEN AND HOUSEKEEPING.
Stays of three weeks or more will be prioritised. Couples or friends traveling together would be fantastic. Please accept that we only take workawayers 25 years or older. Thank you.
Hi. we're a family of 3 and we're building a home-stay in the hills behind Punta Uva, Costa Rica. It's a couple of km away from civilization in the luxurious jungle with stunning views over to Panama. It's all off grid in a tranquil paradise. If you're looking to get out of it all and really come down to nature then this might be just the place for you. We are surrounded by beautiful jungle where you can relax and enjoy the tranquility so if you're looking for parties, bars and socializing then this probably is not the right place for you. We started building this project from scratch about three year ago. So if you have the same idea for the future or just want to see if and how something like this can be done, and gain some insight this might be a very interesting experience for you.
We're looking forward to welcoming you to our hide away and getting to know you.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

Get an experience of starting a life off the grid and escaping this sometimes crazy world where you get back to nature and just be yourself. If you want to get a taste of off-grid living or are interested in doing something similar and need some experience or see if it is something for you then this is the chance.

We need help with general building, garden work and work around the house. We will work together on various projects like basic furniture building, planting fruit trees, creating a food garden and occasionally small building projects, like stone walls, garden beds and paths. The work here in the tropical climate can sometimes be demanding and you should have a good level of fitness.
And please be aware that we're completely off-grid here so we all have to use water and electricity sparingly, which is not a bad experience as it makes you aware of how precious these essential but limited resources are.Langues

We've just finished building a lovely little casita (see photos) with a beautiful view of the mountains in Panama. It's very secluded and you'll enjoy your privacy. You would have this to yourself. Sleeping is in a bunk bed and you'll use a dry bio-toilet, which are really good and easy to use and perfect for the environment. We do not provide meals but you do have a fully equipped kitchen to cook your meals and a very nice house in which to stay.

The beaches on the Carribean coast are among the most beautiful in the world, offering surfing and snorkeling. We have some beautiful waterfalls in the area near Bribri. The nearest beach is Punta Uva, about 25 minute drive away. Walks around the area are truly breathtaking with an abundance of wildlife. The Sixaola river, the border to Panama is a few km walk away. The next civilization is a few km away. We're NOT within walking distance to the beaches but nearer the Sixaola river near Paraiso. The public bus to Puerto Viejo takes about an hour from the main road which is a 25 minute walk. We have a car and drive into town for supplies once a week. Although the transport situation is a bit primitive, it does teach you to be happy with what you've got i.e good healthy legs ;-) and slow down and appreciate the moment and space on your way to wherever your going. As we're living off-grid, we would again like to stress the importance of using water and electricity sparingly. We have enough most of the time, but sometimes we need to be frugal in order to make it last for everyone living here. For example, please don't come with a full pack of laundry. It would help us if you did this in civilisation, where there is more supply.
IF YOU'VE READ THIS FAR, THANKS! You seem quite serious which brings me to a point I'd like to address here. Lately we've been getting a lot of inquiries from people who seem very serious and keen in coming, and then not showing up or only canceling at the last minute, after I write to them to discuss the final details, shortly before arrival. It seems to me that some workawayers are committing to numerous hosts, only to be able to change their plans at short notice and have multiple options still open. I don't know. Sure plans can change and unexpected problems occur. I understand that. But we make a lot of effort and put in a lot of time and thought into planning and welcoming our new guests and will always stay true to our commitment of greatfully accepting you and keeping our agreed dates. It would be nice if you feel the same way.
Thanks for your understanding!Informations complémentaires

Thank you my friends!
Indeed, they live with water from the rain and electricity from the sun which is very natural. You also depend from the weather for high electricity consommation devices like washing machine or fridge.
