Description
Some months ago we started a lodge in the woods in Siguatepeque, intended as a vacation rental. It is a beautiful stay with magnificent view of some hills full of pines forest, also ideal for long hikes. The area has easy access from the main road CA-5 and has a balneario of pools 5 minute walk away. The project isn't finished yet, so we are aiming to host some workaways who would love to join into some tasks.
The tasks would depend on the daily progress. But in General are:
- (Carpentry) basic shelving and an island for cooking.
- (Paint) wall painting indoors white and outdoors in charcoal. Also a nice mural on a small bathroom (a sepia tones jungle mural)
- (Landscaping) graveling some ground, grass cutting, Help fencing
- (Plumbing) installing the water collect system from the roofs
- Handymen people :)
The site has no oven, but it has a small stovetop, we are aiming for a proper fireplace but we can always have temporary diy one. running water (from rain collection or from springs), normal toilets, normal showers (fresh water temperature)
We are looking for fun people, specially active, friendly people who will either enjoy some beers (or snacks) in a night fireplace and the outdoors. If you like outdoors, are tough and like to work, you will be fitting perfect.
+ Minimum stay 5 days
Meeting point will be in San Pedro Sula during weekend and Siguatepeque during weekdaysTypes d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

You will enjoy Central American living, a sunny yard, learn more spanish, we can practice every evening if you ask me and I can recommend you the best spots in the country, if we have time we can go to the waterfalls, lake kayaking or beach together
In your time off you can either explore Siguatepeque (there are some nice pools 5 minute walk from the lodges and a river 20 min walk) or explore the country itself, there are nice beaches around (Tela), big rivers (Rio Cangrejal river rafting), close to the wood cabins you will find the waterfalls (Pulhapanzak) and lake Yojoa where you can do kayaking and explore some natural reserves, the Bay Islands (Utila and Water Cay). With me, you can go to some breweries (in San Pedro Sula) play card games/board games, netflix, laugh :) drink rum, chill, talk about life or marathon series and definitely craft beers. And if you teach me an awesome local meals from your country, I will thank you so much :DAide
Siguatepeque is a newcoming city which is growing at a fast speed recently, the center counts with multiple cafes, small restaurants like forno pizzerias and good food, great supermarkets and lots of lovely spots. The lodge cabins site is located in a village called Achiote, 7 minutes drive from the main road and like 12 minute drive to the city center.
A bus rides down to the center every couple of hours, in the city center there is everything.Langues

Have been learning German, so if you would help me with some language exchange, that would be amazing.Hébergement
You would stay in a double bed with fan and bedding, on a small lodge with indoor bathroom. There is no kitchen, but there is a one burner top stove, a coffee machine and basic dishing. A weekly allowance for breakfast will be provided (and split if you come with companions)
To arrive to the wood cabins area: contact us so we can arrange to either meet in SPS and go together to the lodge site, or we can give you the address and meet there. We need to text about where to meet.Autres infos...
You can kayak on Lago de Yojoa, 45 minutes away from San Pedro Sula or 30 minutes away from the cabins site (and the nice Pulhapanzak waterfalls), also Rio Cangrejal, which is in a jungle area and you can river raft there, 3 hours away from San Pedro sula and 20 minutes away from the ferry spot in la Ceiba where you take the Utila island ferry
