We are a 100-year-old English house, a designated cultural heritage site, that operates as a hostel and the heart of two non-profit cultural projects: an art gallery and a children's library.
More than just a place to stay, we offer a unique experience where you can immerse yourself in projects with a strong social and artistic impact. We are located right in the heart of the world-class surf breaks of Lobitos, making it the perfect base for surfing. After a long day in the water, you can relax and enjoy the best sunsets from our property.
For digital nomads and remote workers, we have a dedicated co-working space with Starlink internet, ensuring fast and reliable connectivity for all your needs.

Here at we're more than a hostel—we're a family! Our crew includes three local staff, three volunteers, and, of course, all our wonderful guests. We spend our time together sharing our love for music, food, and learning about each other's cultures. We work to create a friendly and harmonious vibe. Plus, with our amazing location, it's the perfect place to learn how to surf!
Aide
We're currently looking for two volunteers to help with our daily operations, which includes mostly front desk reception, and a little hostel cleaning / general maintenance. We ask for an average of 3 to 4 hours of help per day, and you'll have one day off per week.
We are also looking for a third volunteer to manage our social media and online presence. If you're creative and have innovative ideas, we'd love to hear them! The schedule for this position will be discussed on arrival, but will require the same 20 to 24 hours per week as the other volunteers.
We also have a wonderful opportunity for volunteers to get involved with the local community. On weekends, there's the chance to spend time with the children of Lobitos—reading to them, creating fun activities, and playing together. This is a great way to make a deeper connection with the community here. This task is optional, but the time spent with the children will count towards your volunteer hours of the week.
In exchange we will provide you with accommodation in our gender specific volunteer dorms, access to a private volunteer kitchen, a fast internet connection, and full use of all of our common areas. We ask for a minimum stay of 3 weeks. Many of our past volunteers have extended their stay, and we think you'll soon understand why. Our home, with its perfect blend of sun, surf, and a laid-back atmosphere, has a way of finding a special place in your heart.

Lobitos is an awesome and quiet little pueblo, perfect to relax and surf (beginners or not). It is a magic place with a lot of history, where you can see the best sunsets and play the pool ;) every week-end la they open their library to teach english to the adorable kids of Lobitos. Este es un lugar mágico con mucha paz y tranquilidad. Estuve como voluntario durante tres semanas. Junto con el otro voluntario éramos un muy buen equipo con Fiorela y Nando. Nos reímos mucho, tuvimos noches de fogatas con malvaviscos y noche de cine con campitos.

Fantastic experience here. I stayed for about three weeks and couldn't have asked for a better time! Carlos was excellent and I met so many amazing people during my stay. I will definitely be returning to this place if I ever find myself back in Peru

It was my first workaway experience and honestly I think it couldn’t be any better. Carlos and Nando made sure all of the volounteers felt like at home, the work was easy and enjoyable, and in a free time you can surf some really good waves! Amazing three and a half weeks. Everyone I have met is super friendly and I have made Workaway friends that I am traveling Peru with. Carlos and Nando have made my stay as comfortable as possible and Lobitos is a laid back and chill town. I definitely recommend this hostel.

A magic place! The hostal is beautiful, directly on the beach, between the surfspots. Best view and sunsets in Lobitos. You feel like home, family atmosphere with the stuff and the guests. I stayed here for four weeks and had an amazing time! Carlos amd Oscar really made me feel at home. The work is very easy and doesn’t require cleaning which is a nice change! Lobitos is a very chill town with plenty of time for relaxation, yoga and surfing. I highly recommend!

Four weeks here and it was so chill. Daniel (manager) is awesome and many of the guests and volunteers have become good friends.
It's always sunny, the people are smiling and it's the best location in lobitos.
I worked reception and enjoyed it a lot. Learnt to juggle and read plenty of books when it was quiet.

What an amazing month we had there. Could have easily spent much more time there. It was sad to leave. You become part of the family there.
The work is pretty well structured, doing different tasks each day you never get bored. And there is plenty of down time, which is what lobitos does best.

What an amazing place this is! I stayed here a month the people were amazing and the place was incredible! I already miss it all! Life is pretty simple in Lobitos just surf and chill with very basic facilities but it's perfect because of this. The work is laid back but it is everyday. I wouldn't change anything! I helped here for 5 weeks and really appreciate it. There is a good mood with all the volonteers and the owner. The work is classic hostel Job (cleaning, reception, making beds, bar, informations,...).

I spent in Lobitos above three weeks.
It was amazing time. This place has incredible chillout atmspthere that is hard to resist.
Its not only about the waves and sunsets. The people makes this place really special.

My plan was to volunteer there for 3 weeks, ended up volunteering for 6 weeks and staying almost 2 months in total, very good place, great surf and a lot of good people, the managers camile and andrey are great and do what they can to make the volunteers feel at home and make the hostel work, i recommend the experience

La verdad que la paz que se vive éste lugar es indescrptible. El grupo de voluntarios y la gente, muy buena onda, el chef, las mascotas, la playa y el océano, hacen un lugar privilegiado.

WOW! sin duda es un lugar hermoso para trabajar! Estuve 2 semanas y me queria quedar mas. Pase mi cumpleaños allí, y me sentí como en casa. Los voluntarios hoy son compañeros de viajes y amigos para toda la vida. Los encargados de hoy en día son Pablo y Rimm, genios y muy amables. Gracias . Sin duda volvere :)

Had an un believable time . The hostel is paradise and Lobitos is an amazing place to spend time. Beware this place grows on you- I only meant to spend three weeks there but ended up there for two months the volunteers change reuarly but there is always a great atmosphere at La coSona.

Trabajamos aqui casi dos meses, las semanas fueron faciles, el trabajo es muy tranquilo, y las personas son encantadoras. El lugar es magnifico con la puesta del sol mas bonita que haya visto. Hay muchas cosas para hacer, pero tambien mucho tiempo libre. Fuimos para quedar 3 semanas en máximo y..

I stayed there for 3 weeks and it was plain amazing.
Starting with the waves, the constant good weather and ending with the amazing people!
The work is not to bad at all. You get plenty of free time to surf, read and chillex.
I am so glad I went there.
For surfers: The water is cold you need a wetsuit.

I absolutely loved my time here! The managers, Sebastian and Andrea, were wonderful and handled the volunteers so well. The food is amazing and the work is quite reasonable. You get the chance to be next to a beautiful beach and meet people from all over the world. I can't recommend them enough.
