I am Sovannarith, a volunteer founder and director of a children's charity organisation located in the countryside near Siem Reap. I speak English and want to educate our children with a key focus on language skills like English, Chinese and computer skills to give them a better chance in the future. I believe it is very important to help our children to be successful, I also run a food program once a month to provide food and condiments for the poor and unable. I hope with extra funding this organization will be able to grow and expand reaching out to more children, providing vocational training, community development and extra lessons.
I have been running this NGO since 2011 but am in need of volunteers to help this project grow, anyone who would like to come and support me or teach other languages to the children are very welcome we have classrooms where most of our lessons take place, this is where you can teach the children.
We teach young children in the morning from 8am until 11am and 2pm until 5pm we teach students aging from 5 to 16 years old.
Besides teaching you will be working on extra helps:
1. Create teaching materials
( Curriculum, Lesson Plans)
2. NGO Fundraiser
3. NGO WordPress developer
4. NGO Social Media contents editor
5. NGO Video Maker

Transportation Service is available for:

I accept volunteers who wish to do a short stay or long stay though the long stay is preferred(minimum is one week). I would be happy to give you a tour of our school at any time.
In addition to this, a certificate is provided as proof of involvement with the school and I can be used as a reference for any teaching jobs you may want to apply for in the future. The school is the ideal place as a starting point for anyone holding a TEFL certificate as it offers the opportunity to practice teaching skills and classroom management, although we do welcome anyone to join - whether you have any prior experience/teaching certificate or not.
Accommodation is provided in Homestay as a Cambodian family along with three meals a day, I do ask for a contribution of $10 dollars a day towards food costs and extra donations are welcome warmly($5 without food). I welcome all volunteers and look forward to meeting you.

As a volunteer, travelers will learn about Cambodia culture and customs, as well as have the opportunity to help children learn. Often, there are many students but not enough teachers. Volunteers can increase their overall teaching skills and have the perspective from being involved in teaching in an area where there is poverty. In addition, volunteers can learn how to fix and build homes, and know that families in need are being helped.
We are in need of up to 6 volunteers at a time for ideally at least one week (but will accept volunteers that can only come visit for the day) and as long as desired. We welcome volunteers that can speak any other language aside from English, web designer in Word press and Carpenter making chair, table, and bench,(Chinese, Korean, Italian, etc.) as there are tourists that come here to visit and speak those languages.

You can stay at the director’s Inn for $5 a night. This includes 3 meals and the internet.
The room accommodation is a dormitory type. Meaning, you might share a room should there be other volunteers. No worries though, we have a separate room for the gents and the ladies.
The inn is the main source of funding for the charity. So, we also have a “premium” option for accommodation by offering a private room if you prefer not to share accommodation. If you would like this, pls contact us.
We accept volunteers who pledge to stay at least 1 week.
Lastly, as mentioned, the Inn is the main funding source of the charity. In order to make this sustainable, we deemed it’s necessary to bundle the accommodation price with tuk-tuk service. Meaning, you will be fetched by the Director to and from Siem Reap city for $25.
Thank you so much and hope you can meet the students soon!
Volunteers can visit the many sights around Siem Reap including the Angkor temples, local markets, as well other villages near town. Tourism is high so it is easy to meet many people from other countries as well to make friends while here. It is very inexpensive to take local tuk tuks around all of Siem Reap or buses to other cities like Phnom Penh.
