Hello, I’m a 28 year old traveller from the Netherlands. I lived and worked my whole life in Haarlem. I have worked for 7 years in IT as a developer/programmer of websites.

Last September my girlfriend and I decided to quit our jobs and start travelling around Asia to learn more of the world, and different countries and cultures. Since then we have been travelling around the area, including Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Cambodia.

My passions lie in being active, with football as my biggest hobby. I also love hiking, cycling and exercise. Other passions are: reading, music, history and learning more about cultures around the world.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have completed a bachelor in IT, and have worked the past 7 years as a backend developer (website programmer) in the Netherlands. While studying I also studied 6 months abroad in China, as part of my bachelor.

While studying I also had a few jobs on the side including washing dishes in a restaurant and working as a painter of houses.
I can also play the guitar, and like to be busy with music.

I like travelling and learning about other countries and cultures. I also like history, and love to learn about the history of the countries I’m travelling, which is not always something taught at school.

I like sports like football and being active outdoors, especially hiking in the mountains. Both multi-day trips and circular hikes.

Another hobby is music, I like to play guitar, and teach myself my favourite songs. I also have recorded a few covers with a friend for fun. My favourite bands are The Strokes and the Bestles.

I also like reading, especially fantasy and sci-fi. I also like fiction set in historical settings, like the Cicero trilogy from Robbert Harris.
I consider myself as somewhat as a cinephile and love to go to the cinema for both older and current movies. My current favourite movie is Barry Lyndon.
