Hello! I'm Miguel. I'm 34 years old and part of a group that wants to rebuild a ruin to create a communal house in a village in the Gredos mountains, where we want to form a small community.
Right now, we have a house donated to the association to house volunteers. It has a communal room that can accommodate up to four people, a shower, and a small kitchen. It has a heater for the winter and is cool in the summer.
Our next plan is to rehabilitate a ruin we purchased in 2024, for which we are awaiting the necessary permits.
The surroundings are incredible if you love nature, as we are immersed in a forest of oak, ash, and chestnut trees in the middle of the mountains.

Hola! Soy Miguel. Tengo 34 años y formo parte de un grupo que quiere reconstruir una ruina para hacer una casa común en una aldea de la sierra de Gredos y poder así formar una pequeña comunidad.
Ahora mismo tenemos una casa cedida a la asociación donde alojar a los voluntarios. En ella hay una habitación común donde se pueden alojar hasta 4 personas, una ducha y una cocina pequeña. Cuenta con estufa para el invierno y está fresquita en verano.
El plan que tenemos por delante es rehabilitar una ruina que compramos en 2024 para la que estamos esperando los permisos pertinentes.
El entorno es increíble si te gusta la naturaleza pues nos encontramos inmersos en un bosque de robles, fresnos, castaños en plena montaña.

I welcome people who can help me in DIY, rebuilding an old stone house. We will have to do cement, concrete and break a rock inside of the house.
Reinforcement of dry stone walls, construction of a concrete beam on the walls and raising of the walls with bricks.
As for food, we will go to the supermarket together so that you can choose what you want to buy to eat (obiusly I will pay). We will eat together in the house where you will be staying.
En cuanto a la comida iremos juntos al supermercado para que podáis elegir lo que queréis comprar para comer (obviamente yo me haré cargo del coste). Comeremos juntos en la casa donde estaréis hospedados.
Necesito gente que pueda ayudarme en trabajos de construcción, reconstruyendo una antigua casa de piedra. Habrá que hacer cemento, hormigón y retirar una piedra en el interior de la vivienda. Refuerzo de muros de piedra seca, realización de una viga de hormigón sobre los muros y subida de los muros con ladrillos.

Hébergement
Right now we are working in the construction of the common house for a future community. You will have to stay in a tent and sleeping bag. Like if you where camping in the middle of the forest. There will be improvised showers and the wc will be the mountain for the moment. We hope to finish the common house as soon as possible to have a roof and Refuge.
Estamos trabajando en la construcción de la casa común para así poder crear una pequeña comunidad. Tendréis que hospedarnos en tienda y saco de dormir, como si fuerais a acampar en medio de la montaña. Hay unas duchas improvisadas y el baño es en la naturaleza (una hazada y un royo de papel). Esperamos tener la casa común tan pronto como sea posible para así tener techo y refugio.

Public transport is very bad, you can only get to the next town by bus and there are not many throughout the day. If you can get around by car there are a thousand plans to do in nature.
Anyway there is buses from Madrid and Ávila to the town next to mine, Burgohondo, where I can pick you up.
El transporte publico es muy malo, solo se puede llegar hasta el pueblo de al lado en autobus y no hay muchos a lo largo del dia. Si te puedes mover en coche hay mil planes que hacer en la naturaleza. De todos modos hay autobuses desde Madrid y Ávila a burgohondo, donde os puedo ir a buscar.

There is a campervan area nearby to fill the tanks and you can park 5 mins from the house.

This place is amazing if you want to disconnect from society and routine and connect just to nature and yourself.
I also really appreciate the simple lifestyle we had, sleeping in tents in the middle of beautiful landscapes, taking baths in rivers and looking at the stars at night.

It was really cool to help restoring an abandoned house and learn about eco-buildung and the history of the place. The area around there is pretty amazing, you have an amazing view of the mountains, there's a waterfall nearby and the abandoned villages around are worth a visit.

The only thing negative is that she doesn't agree that french cousine but who is not gonna say her home country cuisine is the best ;-)
It has been a great experience hosting Sierk, he was allways offering himself for help. At the construction site he even bring his own tools.
