We are a small Eco Lodge located in the mountains near Turrialba. We specialize in birds and birdwatching. Its a very beautiful place to be and a top destination for birdwatchers visiting in Costa Rica.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in gaining valuable experience working in ecotourism and would be excited about living in Costa Rica. If so, we will be very happy if you pick our place as your destination to be a volunteer. We feel that this is the best place in Costa Rica for birds and birdwatchers and for all people who want to experience nature in this beautiful setting. You will really have a chance to practice your Spanish here as we are located in one of the most “untouristy” areas of Costa Rica. A love for birds, animals and nature and an interest in sustainable living is important. We raise chickens, pigs, calves, and cows and make some cheese.
Aide
A desire to learn is a basic requirement of everyone volunteering here.
Some of the skills we are looking for in a Helper: Computer and Marketing/website design skills and Photography are good as we need someone who can help promote our lodge through social media.
Helpers may help with trail maintenance and farm work, help with guests at the lodge etc. Candidates should have at least a beginning level Spanish (a little Spanish will be big asset), be very comfortable in nature, and be interested in exploring a sustainable, lifestyle.If you have special skills or abilities in any areas and you would be willing to help us, please let us know!

During low season we have room for a volunteer or two. You would have your own room. Its a lodge so the rooms are nice. We also provide delicious meals. Our goal is for you to have the best experience possible during your stay. We enjoy having volunteers and are happy to get to know you while you are here. We hope our place will live up to all your expectations.

You will find a friendly warm atmosphere with delicious food and almost perfect spring like weather. We are a destination for bird watchers with many species of birds in our private reserve and in the local area. In your free time there are many fun things to do outdoors. We have extensive trails right here for hiking. It’s also a great area for hikers, photographers, naturalists, and rappelling, and there is the best whitewater rafting nearby on the Rio Pacaure.
