Description
Welcome to our little green corner of Costa Rica!
We live in a small rural village tucked away in the rolling green hills behind the Karen Mogensen Nature Reserve, not far from the Gulf of Nicoya. Here life is still simple, authentic, and full of pura vida.
Our region is refreshingly non-touristy, yet within a 30-minute drive you’ll find a handful of small, peaceful beaches where you can spend a tropical day by the sea. On the property itself we have a seasonal river with small waterfalls (May to December), and it’s a place where wildlife still feels at home: you might spot howler and capuchin monkeys, coatis, iguanas, armadillos and on rare occasions even a puma or coyotes are passing through up in the hill.
We live in one of the sunniest regions of the country, which means plenty of bright days and hardly any disruptive storms. 🌞
Our place is remote: there are no restaurants, pubs, or shops around, and public transport does not reach the property. Volunteers should be comfortable with the peace and quiet of rural life, and we can help with tips on how to organize transport when needed.
If you’re looking for a place off the beaten path, surrounded by nature, and where community, sustainability, and pura vida go hand in hand — we’d love to welcome you!Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

Echange culturel et opportunités d'apprendre
Before settling down in Costa Rica, we traveled to over 40 countries and love learning about other cultures and perspectives. Workawayers who join us will find plenty of space for cultural exchange, whether it’s cooking plant-based meals together, sharing travel stories, or simply learning from each other’s backgrounds.
We’re also active in our small community. Every December, we help organize a spay & neuter clinic for cats and dogs, which has become an important event for local families. Volunteers staying with us at that time are welcome to get involved and experience this unique aspect of rural Costa Rican life.Aide
We’re running a reforestation project and are cultivating a small organic vegetable garden. There’s always something to do, from helping in the garden to assisting with small projects around the property. The tasks are varied and we try to match them with your skills and interests.
But Workaway here is not only about the work. We enjoy sharing this unique spot with adventurous people who love nature. Evenings by the fire often turn into long conversations, laughter, and stories from around the world.
Important to know
We follow a plant-based lifestyle, so only vegan/vegetarian food is allowed on the property. 🌿Langues

Autres infos...
We value peace and quiet, so if you’re a nature lover who enjoys quiet nights, the sounds of wildlife, and conversations by the fire rather than loud music or parties, this little oasis might be just what you’re looking for.
We also are interested in learning to paint/art, exchange plant-based cooking skills.Informations complémentaires
