Description
Couples Only
We are an easy going Swedish couple living in our beloved romantic Chateau in the north Loire with our Golden Retrievers Lisa and Rosa. We have three grown up kids who have left the nest and live in Sweden.
We own and run an international SaaS company in the sharing economy with several hundred automated SUP and kayak rental stations across 8 countries. We also own and run an outdoor hard goods company which manufactures and sells backpacks and paddle sports equipment, mainly kayaks, in more than 50 countries. The head office is in Sweden. We travel a lot and are away for a few days now and again. We are rarely away for more than one week at a time.
We are reliable and relaxed. We love cooking, the outdoors and especially animals. Besides the golden's Lisa & Rosa, there is Ingrid the goat and a bunch of horses on the property. There are 15 hektars of gardens, parkland, woods and grazing land. The 19 century chateau with 4 towers with views over the surrounding hills, is about 2 km from two lovely little villages where you can hang out with the locals in the picturesque village bar.
Being able to ride is NOT a requirement. But if you like horseback riding (and if you'r a good rider), this is your chance. You can ride as much as you want. We have 7 horses that beg to be ridden. You can ride our jumpers in the manege or take them for a hack. Or our two Argentinian criollos for some fun in the trails and woods. We also have a fun Spanish horse and some younger half bloods that are ready for new adventures.
Besides riding there is lots of other fun stuff to do here.
Richard is also a keen tennis player and takes every opportunity to play. We have a full sized, true lawn tennis court on the property. So if you play tennis, you will have daily opportunities to play.
There is a car for our workawayers to use as you want. You can drive off on short and long excursions. If you want to go away for a couple of days, the car is yours!Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

The area is rural France at its best and there is a little car at your disposal. Get to know local produce, pick up some French and local culture. The area is absolutely stunning country land with rolling hills, beautiful forests and the gentle Mayenne river flowing nearby. While there are very few tourists around, there are many things to see and explore. And if you like wine, this is the place to get to know the local, little known and extremely affordable magnificent Saumur and Anjou wines. This is genuine France with all the trimmings but without the hype.
Paris is just over an hour away by train and the lovely town of Laval with everything you need, only 15 km away.
If you like riding and are good rider you will have a great time. You can ride our horses as much as you want.Aide
Riding skills are not required. We require couples as it is a remote location , as we do travel we feel it's a safety issue not to be alone while holding the fort. Also, it can get lonely by yourself. We prefer if you can stay at least 1 month, possibly more.
We don't run a business here.
One task is to help out with the horses. Especially when we travel you need to check on them, feed them and sometimes, when the weather is bad, put some of them in the stables for the night. They mainly stay outdoors through. There is also gardening and yard work. Cutting grass, tending to bushes and trees, flower beds, moving some scrap and wood around. We also need help with fences that might need your attention. And then there is the lawn tennis court which needs a cut a couple of times a week and some other tending to.
When we travel, Lisa and Rosa, the dogs, needs your love and supervision.
If you are handy, or even better, have building skills there are lots of things to fix. Like doors, windows etc etc. If so that takes priority. Its great to get help repairing the buildings, machines and so on.Langues
