Hello Workawayers!
My name is Stacy Nick, a 23-year-old Kenyan and recent graduate with a Bachelor of Laws. I am deeply passionate about children’s rights, especially the rights of teen mothers, and I plan to dedicate my future legal career to this cause.
With the support of my family, friends, and well-wishers, I started a Teen Mothers Empowerment Program in 2020. Since then, we have supported over 20 teen mothers and more than 15 vulnerable children within our community in Oyugis, Homabay County.
The program was born out of a need to respond to the rising cases of teenage pregnancies, early marriages, and school dropouts in our region, which often lead to cycles of poverty. I strongly believe that when teen mothers are empowered through education, psychosocial support, and practical skills, they can break free from poverty, care for their children, and uplift their families.
What We Do
Provide full scholarships, mentorship, counseling, shelter, and a safe family environment for our beneficiaries.
Partner with the Department of Children Services in Oyugis, through which we receive referrals of vulnerable cases such as abandoned babies, total orphans, and lost children.
Develop a safe home on land we purchased outside town, where girls can grow up in a nurturing and protective environment.
Run a Football Academy and Badminton Training Program for both boys and girls, with the dream of building a Sports Academy.
Offer talent and skills training, where each girl chooses an area of interest such as tailoring, computer literacy, or arts, giving them the tools to save for their future and become self-reliant.

How You Can Help
We warmly welcome volunteers from around the world to join us in creating a happy, international community. Your skills, time, and resources can make a huge difference!
You can get involved in:
Teaching: subjects like Biology, Mathematics, Chemistry, English, or Life Skills. Bringing revision books is also a big help!
Sports Coaching: football, badminton, or other games. Donations of sports shoes, balls, uniforms, and equipment are highly appreciated.
Computer Literacy Training: web development, videography, graphic design, or any digital skills. We welcome old, refurbished, or new laptops/computers.
Tailoring & Design: teaching, or donating sewing machines and materials.
Babysitting and Cooking with the girls.
Mentorship and Counseling: guiding and supporting the girls emotionally and socially.
Creative Projects: home decoration, painting, or helping design our new safe space.

I can fluently speak in English, Kiswahili and Luo. Additionally, I have taken classes in French and currently learning Chinese(mandarin)
Hébergement
As a safe space , we are currently having two volunteers rooms with electricity and charging sockets and a bathroom/toilet.
We provide for all the beddings including mosquito nets.
We also provide for all the meals during your stay and any other thing you would like to have .
The compound is fenced and with a security officer.
We also have a house help who ensure all programs in the safe house runs well.

We have installed starlink satellite that ensures sustainable network to our volunteers who work online and do business readings. The internet is this available We have cows, dogs and cats in the compound with someone employed to look after them. While we are not smokers, we are open to receiving volunteers. We have been hosting families and we are opened to hosting as many families and children as possible. We are currently having 8 bedrooms that can help host our guests.
