    Description

    Vİllage in Çeşme:

    Our village near Çeşme aims to become a self-sustainable village where we live together as a big family, with Turkish people, volunteers from all over the world, and Syrian families coming to participate in the projects.

    We currently have 3 programs:

    °Education Village where refugee women and their children come to learn solar engineering, and women's health in order to become financially independent and facilitate their integration into Turkish society.

    The volunteers will help around in the village :
    - Working in the fields: our permaculture work is in progress;
    - Looking after the animals: sheep, chicken, cats and a dog;
    - Maintain the space for hosting the refugee women, their children and the volunteers clean and repair it when necessary;
    - Maintain the hygiene of our living space (as you would do in your house);
    - Take care of the children if you have specific skills (yoga, language teacher...) or if you speak Arabic or Turkish.

    °Working in the refugee settlements which we visit on a regular basis. We distribute food, clothes, baby diapers, hygienic articles. We also have a mobile education program which is about teaching the children in those settlements some Turkish (songs, colours, numbers or similar), information about common understanding for personal care and hygiene, and some basic physical exercises and more.

    °We also distribute food, water, baby diapers, etc. to refugees that have been caught trying to cross the sea to Greece. We are called by the military when this happens, and it can happen at any point during the day.

    /!\ The Village is not a refugee camp!

    House in Nizip:
    COVID-19 UPDATE: Due to the pandemic we are unable to accept volunteers to this project as it is currently on pause.

    We opened a community center in Nizip, near the Syrian border at the spring of 2019. Help is needed to take care of the children while their mothers are in class. Since the office has just started, the activities are still limited (workshops on making soap, candle and facial cream, and how to make bracelets).

    °It is a women center, male volunteers can unfortunately not be accommodated.
    °We prefer volunteers with experience with children and who are over 20 years old.

    Village in Çeşme

    Our Village is 3km away from Çeşme. We accommodate the volunteers from all over the world in our village. We have separate rooms for men and for women volunteers. It is a self-sustainable village and we live together as a big family. We eat mostly vegetarian meals which are served three times a day. Besides that, there is free filtered water, coffee and tea all day. Showers and toilets are shared. We have washing machines if you need that. We regularly bring refugee women and children to our Village. While the mothers are participating to our workshops, the children are taken care of by our volunteers. They usually stay 5-7 days. There is an off day for all volunteers during the week. Çeşme is a touristic town. There is plenty to explore around in the province. You can eat ice cream in Çeşme, spend your day at the beach or go on a trip to nearby places (for example Ephesus, Chios, Alacati, Pamukkale, the ruins of Troy, etc.).
