Description
We are looking for friends to join us in the village!
Our objective: We believe in initiative and action rather than words. We find meaning in our lives by being useful to other living beings. We are building connections with people who are searching for alternative and community-based ways of living.
Conscience, mercy, and sincerity are our guiding values.
Since 2014, we have been working in the humanitarian field in İzmir Province, supporting displaced families. Today, we continue this work in the village, where we aim to build a sustainable and community-based living space together with volunteers, local people, and displaced women and children.
Village & Wood Workshop
This is a sanctuary where people come together with solidarity. Here, we try to live simply, sustainably, and fairly—taking only what we need and sharing what we can.
In the village, we have a wood workshop where volunteers can work, learn, and create together. In this workshop, we produce handcrafted wooden items that are used in our humanitarian distributions and support projects in crisis areas such as Ukraine, Bosnia, and Gaza. Volunteers contribute to this process through practical work, creativity, ideas, and shared knowledge.
During the weekends, disadvantaged women and children visit the village. While the women participate in different activities and workshops, volunteers help organize creative, educational, and playful activities for the children, supporting their development and well-being.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for volunteers who:
-Are motivated to live and work in a community environment
- Enjoy practical work such as woodworking, building, and village tasks
- Are interested in supporting activities with women and children
-Can stay at least one month

Aide
Volunteer Tasks
We plan the tasks together once a week with the volunteers. Please be ready to be flexible, as activities can sometimes change depending on the needs of the village and ongoing projects.
Each week, we discuss with volunteers which activities they would like to be involved in.
We need support to continue building and developing our collective living space. This includes practical work, sharing knowledge, and contributing ideas.
Volunteer tasks may include:
* Supporting the wood workshop and helping produce handcrafted wooden items for our humanitarian distributions.
* Assisting with the construction and improvement of village spaces (such as children's playgrounds, ecological kitchen areas, and other shared spaces).
* Helping develop agricultural and gardening areas in the village.
* Supporting the creation and maintenance of compost areas as part of our zero-waste approach.
* Organizing creative and playful activities for children when disadvantaged women and their children visit the village on weekends.
* Sharing your skills and knowledge in areas such as woodworking, sustainable living, solar energy, crafts, or other practical skills.
We are also very open to new ideas and initiatives. If you have a specific activity or project you would like to develop in the village, please feel free to share it with us.

We can provide accommodation to our volunteers in the village. We would kindly ask 15€ per day for the daily meals of workawayer.

Izmir is a city that has hosted many communities throughout history, so you can visit many ancient cities and settlements where different cultures come together in the vicinity. When the appropriate time is created, your volunteer coordinator can give you a mini tour :)
