Welcome to coffee farm and community initiative. We are a family living on a small coffee plantation around Matagalpa (6km north of the city), where we also cultivate some fruits (bananas, oranges, lemons, mangos). We also have a hen house with 20 chickens. A year ago, we opened a small hostel with three rooms receiving people who desire to discovering the region around. In collaboration with the community of San Francisco, we give out lunch every day to 35 children in our local canteen. We also opened a café this year, where we sell our local production.
We are looking for motivated and creative people in all of our projects. We need volunteers for gardening , carpentry work (no experience necessary), artists are welcome with ideas to develop our projects and also help us with our web page and others. We are also looking for help in our community initiative where we, and the community of San Francisco, provide a free daily lunch for local children and teach english and other skills.
We offer three square meals a day of standard Nicaraguan cuisine and invite you to share your own favorite recipes with us. Of course, we also offer you a place to stay, just a few meters from our own house in a recently built three bed dorm type cottage. The cottage is equipped with a full bathroom. We are looking for one or two volunteers. We speak english, but if you want to practice and learn more spanish, we would be happy to practice with you. Every day we go to the city and would be happy to take you along so you can enjoy its offerings.

Somos una familia que vivimos alrededor de Matagalpa (a 6 km al norte de la ciudad) y qué tenemos una pequeña finca dónde cultivamos principalmente café y también algunas frutas (bananas, naranjas, limones, magos). Tenemos también un gallinero. Hace un año, abrimos un hospedaje de tres cuartos para recibir la gente que quiere a descubrir el proceso del café y visitar la finca y otros lugares de la región. También tenemos un comedor infantil en colaboración con la comunidad San Francisco dónde le damos el almuerzo a 35 niños, cada dia. Ese año, abrimos una cafetería con nuestro producto local.
Necesitamos ayuda con el desarrollo de cada proyecto con gente motivada y creativa. Buscamos voluntarios por el trabajo de jardinería sobre la finca, cocinero en el café, de carpintería con futuros trabajos. Queremos también gente artística para desarrollar ideas con nuestros proyectos, ayuda con pagina web y otras. Se puede ayudar en el comedor, con los niños, enseñar clase de inglés y otras.
Ofrecemos la comida (si quieres a ayudar y compartir recetas con nosotros, podría ser un placer) y un cuarto de dormir (necesitamos una o dos personas para nuestra iniciativa). Hablamos inglés, pero si quieres a desarrollar su español, estamos felices de compartir. Viajamos diario a la ciudad, entonces pueden ir con nosotros, también podemos ir a traerlos a la Terminal.

Our project is a local initiative, where not only will you bring development to the local community and our home, but also live with locals and learn about our ways of living. Sharing your human experience with ours. Practicing your spanish, learn about coffee, discover the mountains.
Nuestro proyecto es una iniciativa local, dónde podría non solamente a ayudar el desarrollo de la comunidad y de nuestra finca, pero también aprender la vida en ese parte del mundo, compartir vuestras experiencias humanas con nuestras. Practicar el español, aprender sobre el café, descubrir las montañas.

*️️️*️️️We are looking for someone with a lot of permaculture farming experience to help develop a new organic project on a self-sustainable farm. We are planting many types fruits and veggies. If you are interested please include your past experience. Minimum 1 weeks/maximum 2 weeks.
