I’m living a Norwegian countryside lifestyle with fishing and freediving, for our own consumption and leisure.

I have many projects around my home.
Carpentry, woodwork, boat building, treehouses and mechanics is some them.

In nature I like to do fishing, hiking, swimming, skiing, freediving and camping.

Norway has nature you can easily challenge yourself in.

Things I can show you if interested:

Fishing, how to cook, catch and eat the common Norwegian fish.
I also like to practice names of fish in other languages.

Norwegian methods of traditional building. The use of woodworking tools, like planers, hand drills, saws, axes and chisels.
Knowledge about these manual tools and how to use them.

Trees and their life cycle, how to climb, cut or plant them. I would like to know the types of trees in your language!

I build my own spearguns from wood, and can teach about this aswell.

I would also like to learn from you and about your specific skills. Especially about cooking, traditions, culture or anything useful.

If you have your own freediving or fishing gear it is good to bring it. If you don’t have, it possible to rent or borrow. There’s also a nice freediving shop nearby.

You can also learn about Norway as a country with its traditions, culture, language and history.

Looking for motivated helpers in following tasks:

    Fishing:
    Preparing fishing and freediving equipment.

    DIY/Hobbies:
Currently one of my hobbies is to build my boat, a perfect little fishing boat.
Other projects is a woodfired bakery and a sauna.

    Forest:
Clearing branches, cutting brush and small trees in my garden.
For each winter we have to prepare firewood for my house.
    Splitting and stacking wood.

    Cooking and House tasks:
    Cooking, gardening, painting, cleaning.
It is important to have experience with living on your own - cooking & cleaning.

    Video making:
I want to make a film/documentary about the tasks we do, so I am looking for volunteers that are experienced with videography.

    Yoga/Fitness
If you have YTT course or experience with Yoga training/teaching, I would like to learn from you.
I also practice meditation and breathing techniques through freediving.

Put one headline of the activities listed avbove in the subject of your message when you message me. This is to ensure you’ve read everything so far.

The projects vary and change with the seasons.

Most of the tasks demands that you can help independently and understands the certain responsibility to it.

  • Hébergement

    Hébergement

You will accommodate in a traditional Norwegian house from the 1800s.

All guests will be supplied with their own bed, with clean bedding and linen.

The house and living is simple and countryside-style.

My diet is mostly self supplied and typically west-Norwegian: Fresh fish and home-grown potatoes.

There are also supermarkets nearby where we can get supplies for other needs. Food and diet plan will be made on further agreement with each volunteer.

Sleep routine is from 22:00 to 06:00
This is to ensure a quiet house after bedtime.
