Description
Welcome as a volunteer in my home ! I need help with general maintenance, renovation and gardening in a nice house with swimming pool located in Nimes, close to many cultural and nature spots.
I am a paediatrician, specialized in child neurology . I work in Nîmes, at a private practice. I work a lot outside home but sometimes I work from home. Generally, I am not much at home and available during the day, spending my time with studies (chinese medicine, buddhism, feng shui...), meditation, work administration and diverse home duties.
As I work a lot and have 2 dogs to take care of, I need help with my garden (3000 m2), house and sometimes the dogs.
My youngest son, Wilhelm (25) does not live at home any longer. He lives in Avignon and has worked as a riding teacher in a UCPA owned riding school. Right now, he is doing a master in management. He comes to visit me regularly, so you will probably meet him. My daughter: Alix (20) is in. Sweden right now for a master in international relations. You will probably not see her much ! My oldest son, Maxance (30) is living close to me in Nîmes but is handicaped, so he vcannot help me with the garden or the house. Rather, I am the one helping him most of the time..
This year, I need help with cleaning the garden, but may also need help with taking care of the house, like cleaning or ironing. I can also need help with painting or renovating rooms in the house and cooking meals. It is thus a plus if you can cook ! As I am working all day, you'll need to be prepared to help out alone after receiving instructions.
You will not stay in the guest house close to the pool, because it is occupied by a friend right now, so you will have to stay in the house which gives a bit less intimacy than when it was possible to stay in the guest house. But you will have your own bedroom.
I eat vegetarian food and do not buy meat or fish. I do not drink alcohol neither or very exceptionnally. And of course, I do not smoke !

I practice a lot of meditation and spend some time at a buddhist tempel every month. You might want to follow with me if you can and are interested.
I am very curious about foreign cultures and love exchanging about many different subjects. I have had many successful workaway experiences and would love to continue receiving people from other countries as a substitute for traveling.

I live in a nice house located 15 min by walk from the center part of Nimes in Languedoc-Roussillon (Occitanie), Southern France.
I would like to share my french and swedish cultures with you and learn from your culture, while getting some help from you refreshing some parts of the house (painting, arranging what needs to be arranged, cutting hedges, general seasonal gardening, planting shrubs, repairing broken parts of the house, giving us ideas...etc !).

I live in one of the most beautiful parts of France, with perfect climate, good food, easy going people, cultural spots spread around, nature (Camargues, Cévennes), 3,5 hours from Spain and Italy by car, 3 hours from Paris by train, 3 hours from mountain areas, 30 minutes from the mediteranean sea, 40 min from Pont du Gard, 20 minutes by walk to the best preserved arenas of the roman empire...etc. Many festivals can be found all around the year. We love our region and would be delighted to help you discover it !

Very negative experience, When I arrived the bed was broken and she wouldn’t fix it. I had to stack books under the frame just to be somewhat level. And the rest of the living area was a mess.
