    Hello travel community !

We are a public school located in a small village of Kyrgyzstan. We have around 1500 students there and almost 100 teachers ! (including 4 English teachers). We are surrounded by mountains, glaciers and steppes not so far from the Uzbek border (Ferghana region).
The school starts with the 1st grade to 10-11 forms (English starts at the 3rd grade).
Our Secondary School is a big school with our Football ground and VolleyBall court.
You'll find in our village some ATM (one of them is located inside the school, by the way), also some restaurants with traditional Kyrgyz foods and markets. You can also buy your Sim Card or recharge your data, directly in our village (for less than 1000som unlimited data) (Beeline or O!)

We are located in the middle of a beautiful nature, if you love to walk or some treks, you'll enjoy for sure ! (read below for it)

Kyrgyzstan is a country located in Central Asia. If we are a Muslim nation, of course we are also open to the whole cultures in the world. Globally we are a Russian-speaking country, with some Asian influences like Mongolia and also a touch of influence from Middle-East, Turkey and Europe.
We love to eat together and basically we have big families ! For our traditional meals, you can try Beshbarmak, Plov, Lagman, Manty, delicious Samsa, Naan, Borsok, Kurut... and of course tea !
You will never go hungry with us for sure :)

Russian Banya (public baths) : we have one in our village, another one in the next village of Bel-Oruk.

If the Uzbek border is not so far from our village, unfortunately you will have to return to Osh and pass the international border there to eventually renew your journey in Kyrgyzstan. No stress with it, for information the people from Europe (Schengen Area) can stay free-visa in Kyrgyzstan 2 full months (however please check carefully your own official regulations about your journey in our country). So if you want to stay more than 2 months in Kyrgyzstan, you just need to can go in Uzbekistan and go back here then.

Osh : around 2 short hours from our village. It's the second biggest city in Kyrgyzstan, the first one in the south of the country.
    Nookat : 45 minutes

From Bishkek you can take a flight to Osh if you want or take a taxi (around 5000som). It takes around 10-14 hours but the countryside is insane ! (this is one of the Road Silk)

On April 2023, we have had a good experience with a French volunteer here during a couple of months and we would like renew the experience. Please read this carefully before to write us :

    - For some cultural reasons we prefer so far a female single-person (sorry gentlemen). If you are a man, of course you can contact us, we will see what we can do but unfortunately we can't promise anything... We also prefer to avoid couples.

    - No matter if you are a native English or not but you -must- have a good level for it guys of course... and also able to explain it to our children. Don't write us if you feel your level as too low (sorry !)

    - if you haven't had any experiences about teaching, don't worry we will guide you during the lessons, most of the time you will be never alone during the classes. You will also have your timetable in advance by WhatsApp.

    - 5 hours a day (with some breaks time) for 5 days a week expected. Afternoon -or- morning.

    - We like active people with an interest in education. If you don't feel to follow our national English book, you can teach at your own method. Be sure it's will be interesting for the students.

    - We can arrange for you, your timetable about the grades if you feel more comfortable with some of them

    - Our students they -love- volunteers ! You will probably say 1000 times per day "Hello "Hi" or "Salam" :). They will be so interesting and curious about your life, travel, job etc... Don't hesitate to interact with them of course. It's almost more important than the basic classes.

    - If you love to play Football or VolleyBall of course, use our sport hall

    - Again because some cultural reasons but also because we are simply a public school, be sure about your behaviour, appearances, language and also clothing, mostly in front of the students.

    - Required : at least one month with us

    - We -don't- ask any money to our volunteers, we also don't ask to work more than 5 hours a day / 5 days a week. Just one thing : respect your timetable and a minimum of dedication to our students.

If you have different questions about it please ask us, we will reply to you

    Autres infos...

Kyrgyz culture is a mix between different influences from Asia, Europe and Middle-East. You can visit our local two gems and our two prides : Song-Kul & Issyk Kul. Two beautiful nature gems if you love horses, mountains, lakes, globally nature. You can stay there for a few nights in our famous Kyrgyz yurts.

Then you can do some shopping at Osh and visit another local pride : Soulaiman Man-Too (Osh), the waterfall of Apshyr-Ata (one hour around by car from our village), Karakol, Arslanbob (it's will be on your way if you come by car, from Bishkek) or Jeti-Oguz Canyon (Seven Bulls Rocks).
You can assist to the transhumance of the nomads people, it takes place on different dates depending on the destination and the climate, but generally at the end of May or the beginning of June / at the end of September-beginning of October. The transhumance takes several days, because the shepherds move with their hundreds, even thousands of animals, themselves on horseback.

Sincerely the list of the "must-to-see-it" in Kyrgyzstan is pretty big, 90% of our country is only nature...
You will have great time with us, we are pretty sure about it !
