  Description

  Hi, we are Lauren and Dani, and we've just bought our new home and started a home and garden renovation project in beautiful Broome, WA.
  
  We are seeking enthusiastic, creative tradie types who are keen to explore Broome from a comfortable home base in a central location not far from the town beach and all Broome has to offer.
  
  We are keen to support a cultural exchange, and take visitors on some adventures - theres plenty to do in and around Broome with great beaches, fishing, camping, hiking and arts and culture.
  
  Our home is a social place with lots of gardening and building activity underway to beautify the place but theres always time to cook and prepare good meals together and enjoy some downtime and your own projects and interests too.
  
  We love to host artists, DIY enthusiasts and activists throughout the year to rest, re-energise or work on their own projects here. Day to day Lauren run's a not for profit community development program installing solar projects in remote Indigenous communities in the region, and Dani is a psychology student and training to facilitate Kundalini activation.
  
  We speak mainly speak English, pocito Espanol, and Maori. We love to create a welcoming place for travelers who enjoy making meaningful contributions as they experience new places and cultures. We are active in many projects and movements for racial, environmental and social justice and our home is LGBTIQ-friendly.

  Broome is a stunning tropical and beachside paradise with alot to offer travelers wanting a genuine and rewarding experience in remote and outback Australia and the Kimberley. Through our work there are opportunities for cultural exchange with local Indigenous communities, and we are well connected across the Kimberley and Northern Territory with other communities and workaway opportunities and could assist with linking you up with other networks and work during your travel.

  Aide

  While we are in a renovation stage we are keen to support workaways with handy skills in basic landscaping, painting, DIY building skills in steel, woodworking and general repairs. We would love help on any of these activities if they align with your interests and skillset. I always find I learn alot from visitors working alongside on joint projects and love to share my knowledge too.
  
  Knowledge and interest in tropical food gardening and animal care is also a big plus (we have two dogs and need to go away for work sometimes so would love to know I could potentially leave them with good company).
  
  Workaway engagements are on a voluntary basis usually exchanging 3 hours per day labour for accommodation and some shared meals. Dani is a mean chef and we are always keen to share and learn, growing and using lots of local produce.
  
  We welcome travelers who are interested in staying in the Broome region for a minimum of a week but could be up to a month depending on the right fit.

  Hébergement

  Two rooms available, partially furnished, or fully set up caravan for your use - all with aircon. You would have access to the entire home, furnished with laundry, fridge and communal cooking area.

  Broome is a tourist mecca in the Dry season with stunning beaches, lots of great hiking, swimming and fishing spots, a variety of cultural activities including many local festivals, hunting and fishing, national parks and easy access to the rest of the incredible Kimberley region.
