  "Hello!
  We are 'Tanin Kazoku' (Family Beyond Blood).
  In the scenic Yabakei region of Oita Prefecture, four families from different backgrounds have come together to live as one. We are trying to create a life centered around our children, building a family that transcends blood relations.
  In today’s challenging world, we strive to provide an environment where children can grow freely and without oppression. At the same time, we adults face life’s many hurdles head-on, walking together through constant dialogue.
  Currently, our community consists of 13 people across 4 families and animals, living amidst the traditional Japanese countryside. From farming and rice cultivation to renovating old houses, landscape design, childcare, and holistic bodywork (Seitai), we each bring our own skills to the table. We aim to be a community where everyone can express what they can do and what they love.

  私たちは「他人家族」です。
  大分県耶馬溪でそれぞれ背景の違う4つの家族が集まり、血縁の超えた家族として子供達を中心にした暮らしを目指して、共同生活をしています。
  子供達にとって生きにくいこの現代社会の中で、私たちは可能な限り彼らが抑圧なく自由に育っていけるように環境を作り、大人達もまた数多くある問題に一つ一つ向き合い対話をしながら共に歩んでいけように暮らしを作っています。
  私たち他人家族はこの日本の田舎の風景残る耶馬溪で、4家族13人と動物たちで暮らしています。畑や田んぼ、古民家のリフォームや土地のデザイン、子育てや家事、セルフメンテナンスのための整体など、各々がスキルを持ち寄り、自分のできること、やりたいことを表現する場としての共同体を目指しています。

  Aide

  We value crafting our lifestyle with our own hands, and everything involved in daily living becomes part of the experience here. The nature of the assistance required varies depending on the day's circumstances and the season, as follows:
  • Gardening/Farming: Cultivating vegetables and tending the land
  • Animal care: Feeding and looking after the animals
  • Daily life: Preparing meals together or playing with the children
  Important note: Your assistance will be strictly limited to matters concerning our private family life. Please rest assured that we will never ask you to undertake any business-related tasks or work in areas designated for paying guests (homestay).
  
  私たちのライフスタイルは自分たちの手で作ることを大切にしており、日々の暮らしに関わることすべてがここでの体験の一部となります。お手伝いの内容は、その日の状況や季節によって以下のように変化します。

  重要事項: お手伝いいただく内容は、あくまで私たちのプライベートな家族の生活に関するものに限定されています。ビジネス関連の業務や、有料宿泊客（ホームステイ）向けのエリアでの作業をお願いすることは一切ありませんのでご安心ください。

  We also run a guesthouse as a place to share our daily life.
  Volunteers may use one of the rooms.
  
  We follow a flexible style where whoever is available at the time prepares the meals. Our food is centered around the concept of "Chisan-Chisho" (local production for local consumption), using fresh, seasonal ingredients from our area. We serve a variety of dishes, primarily traditional Japanese home-cooking, but we are also happy to provide vegetarian options upon request.
  While we love sharing meals together as part of our communal life, we can also provide ingredients if you prefer to cook for yourself occasionally or when our schedules don't align. We aim to make every meal a healthy and enjoyable part of our cultural exchange!

  私たちは、その時に手が空いている人が食事を作るという、柔軟なスタイルをとっています。食事は、地元の旬の食材を活かした「地産地消」を大切にしており、日本食を中心にバラエティ豊かなメニューが並びます。
  また、私たちはベジタリアンの方への対応も可能ですので、食事制限がある方もご安心ください。基本的にはみんなで食卓を囲む時間を大切にしていますが、状況に応じて、ご自身で料理ができるよう食材を提供することも可能です。

  Yabakei is located in the mountains, so you need a car to get to town. It's a 15-minute drive to the bus stop and a 40-minute drive to the nearest supermarket. Someone from the family lives in town every few days, so they have bicycles and can cycle around the area.
  
  耶馬溪は山間部にあるため、街に出るには車が必要です。バス停まで車で15分、最寄りのスーパーまで40分かかります。
