Description
Hi! My name is Silvi and I am a busy mom of 1 plus a wee dog! We live in the West of Ireland, very close to all the good surf spots here in South Donegal.

I would be very happy to show a workawayer around our little corner of Ireland in the free time. The North Sligo/South Donegal area is beautiful, offering mountains, lakes and the sea with one of the best surfing spots of Ireland (we live just 3 kms away from Rossnowlagh, and about 20mins drive from Bundoran). We are an active family, always out and about when not working - we enjoy walks, going to the beach, a bit of rockpooling ..all the stuff that you do with a small kid, when you live so close to the sea! I am happy to provide a bike for independent journeys down to the beach (a few kms ride) or to the village. I am also happy to play taxi if I am free (public transport is not great in this area). Usually, every Saturday I go to Sligo, which is the biggest city around here in this corner of Ireland and spend the whole day there - workawayers are welcome to come along.
My circle of friends consists of families with young children mostly, quite a few organic horticulturalists and people who have a big interest in an alternative and self sufficient lifestyle - I am sure there are a few things to learn from them, if interested!
It is only me, my child and our dog in the house, and we could do with a bit of company! As my son gets older and seeing him interacting with people, I really like the idea of having somebody living with us for a certain amount of time. I think it is a great way for my son to learn more about people and cultures. I am originally from Austria, my son is Irish/Austrian, the language in the house is predominantly German - right now I think it might be interesting to have a German speaking person coming to us as a workawayer as I would love for my son to be exposed more to German to help him speak it more (he understands German 100 percent, but mixes the languages quite a bit). He is fluent in English, of course.Aide « au pair »

I am a youth worker, mostly in the evenings, and would need a reliable, gentle, active and fun person to mind my almost 4 year old boy during those hours. It would only be for 3 evenings per week. I would expect the workawayer to mind my child, finish preparing the dinner that I cooked previously and put him to bed. I would probably ask for light housework to do while minding my son (loading, unloading dishwasher, hanging laundry, nothing too big) - the main focus should be on engaging my child in meaningful ways. We are big lovers of the outdoors and we are no couch potatoes in this family, we don't have a TV!
Apart from my job, I also create wooden toys and sell them, so I could use some help with that too, when orders come in.
I am currently also in the first stages of building a social enterprise that focuses on providing children with a natural space for playing and exploring - "playgarden" as I would like to call it. I would certainly also need a help with that! It would be physical work mostly, building, landscaping, planting, but also some artistic work. (painting etc.).
I was a workawayer myself a few years ago when I travelled through Ireland and the UK and loved the experience! I always wanted to host myself and share knowledge, ideas and experiences and provide people with an opportunity to get to know Ireland.
I enjoy working with people and to learn more about different cultures myself and I love sharing knowledge.Langues

We live in a small stone two storey house as is typical for this part of Ireland. There is a fully enclosed garden with an extra building that I use as my workshop for woodworking. A workawayer would have his/her own decently sized bedroom with furniture and an ensuite bathroom on the second level of the house.
I enjoy cooking fresh and healthy meals (with the odd not so healthy stuff thrown in between), I bake my own sourdough bread. I usually provide my family with two warm meals, one small (soups for example with bread), one big (a standard dinner). We are vegetarians, but also don't mind non-vegetarians. I used to be vegan myself and still cook a few meals vegan. Vegans would be welcome of course. A workawayer would be invited to share meals with us, but can also make their own meals if that is preferred. There is always plenty of snacks, fruits, veggies in the house!Autres infos...
We don't really have any house rules - obviously as there is a small kid living here that goes to bed by 7 or 8, quiet time would start then. I think I would only really expect to have some common sense when living in my house, tidy up your own things, careful with the house and my belongings and most of all, be gentle with people and the doggy! :) I enjoy the companionship of positive people, who are active and interested in the world. Honestly, people who spend a lot of time on their phones or are into gaming, wouldn't really suit this family. We would love to welcome somebody to our house, who is active, enjoys the countryside and the nature around us and obviously enjoys looking after kids!
