Help with olive harvesting and learn a lot about making oil in Chiusa sclafani, Italy

  Description

  I am 53 old Engineer and since I lost my father (one year ago) I need to take care for our Olive trees production in a wonderful place located in Sicily(village called Chiusa Sclafani). Every November (early beginning of the month)we need about 2 weeks to pick up all the olives and produce our oil . This is a wonderful activity still done through a manual process that allow to spend days outside in a wonderful landscape. Any help would be much appreciated.

  Staying in an agricultural Sicilian village in the middle of the Mediterranean country side, people could learn how extra-vergine oil is produced from the picking to the final oil extraction. I have a house with separate building that can host easily up to 5 people. Location and landscape I believe is wonderful

  Aide

  Olives picking activity is an easy and manual activity that can be performed by everybody (even with no experience before). Works start early in the morning ( around 7:30) and finish in the afternoon (12:30) . Olives are picked with special combs that will be provided and collected with big nets put on the ground. Production is then taken to the oil mill for the final oil production.
  This is not a business activity but just what needed to keep trees in good conditions. Oil is then distributed to friends; friends’ friends and family members.

  New house fully equipped with a wonderful landscape.
  
  Lunch and dinner will be prepared and home . Myself or my mum will prepare local genuine dishes (pasta; meat; vegetables; fruits ) served with a good glass of red or white wine

  During the free time people can go visiting the villages nearby (including medieval castles, old Arabic villages) or even the seaside (south of Sicily). All my German and French and English friends loved this place!
