Thalie and Mark were amazing hosts. Everything is well organized and the communication is very clear. Vlada helped us move a mountain of building materials, undertook a few domestic chores and did so with good humour. She is fit and strong. Working hard in the morning and then getting out to explore the Island in the afternoon. Vlada worked well beyond the scope of what we asked and was an absolute pleasure to have around. Louis was an incredible help during the 2 weeks he was with us. He moved 4000 bricks cheerfully and then ventured out to walk or ride to every bay on the Island. He is strong, fit and capable, always respectful and a true pleasure to host.

Winnie was a wonderful worker. She was brave and took on many challenges including washing the ceiling off a platform ladder. Winnie was respectful and kind. She worked independently. We welcome her back anytime.

I stayed with Thalie and Mark for two weeks, and Moxi - a very cute and friendly little dog! I helped with spring clean and sanding, not easy but I really enjoy it.
The accommodation is clean and cosy, good to have privacy and relax after works.
Thalie and Mark are good host, I love their cooking. Miss the time we watching movies with icecream,

This was my first Workaway experience and I loved it! Thalie and Mark were kind and welcoming, and little Moxie is a lovely and happy dog.
I did some gardening work and the weather was hot, but that is to be expected in this region and time of year. I enjoyed working in the garden and looking at all the butterflies and birds, and some koalas came

The house itself is beautiful and located in the forest, but it's still near the beach, and the work hours were not long so I was able to spend afternoons exploring the island.

Priya and her partner Dayton were fabulous workers. We took up their offer last minute and they were really helpful in getting some jobs done like fencing, digging holes for plants and mulching in the garden. The work was hard and it was hot. We had a fantastic stay at Mark's & Thalie's place while they were away and we were taking care of Moxy - their happy, funny and playful puppy and We had a great time when They were present as well.
We really enjoyed cooking together and we were amazed by the dishes that Thalie prepared for us.

Their place is located in a perfect place in a very quiet and peaceful part of Nelly Bay, next to island's ferry terminal, very close to the supermarkets and to the beaches aswell.
Easy and quick access to hiking and snorkeling trails nearby is one of the the biggest advantages for travellers visiting Magnetic Island.
We will be happy to stay some other time with them or take care of Moxy and the house if we match with the dates again.

Sebastian and Nabila were great workers. They love to clean and the house was maintained to a very high standard while they were here. They are independent and self motivated. They did two stints of house/dog sitting and proved to be reliable and trustworthy. We enjoyed their company and would welcome them back any time.

We had a great time staying with Mark and Thalie on the gorgeous Magnetic Island.
Mark was kind enough to give us a tour of the island on our first day and showed us the best spots to explore. Thalie and Mark are knowledgeable of the wildlife on the island, and it is true, there really are koalas in the garden! Thalie makes awesome cakes :) and
… read more delicious, healthy meals. We enjoyed a couple of classic Aussie movies together with them in the evenings.
We enjoyed our work helping around the house and setting up an irrigation system for some newly planted trees. You keep track of your own hours and Mark and Thalie are flexible about when you do the work.
The location is a great base for exploring the island, and the local buses make it easy to get around even if you haven't got a car yourself. We'd recommend the walk from Mark and Thalie's house to Arcadia, beautiful views on the way and doable in an afternoon/morning off. For any snorkellers, don't miss Florence Bay.

Maddy and Dena were outstanding helpers. They respected us and our space, completed all jobs to a very high standard with a cheerful ‘this is fun’ approach to every task even digging holes!
