Hello!!!! I'm Yona from Japan.
I love traveling, art and meeting new people.
Traveling is my passion, and I have explored about 20 countries and regions so far.
I adore traveling because it allows me to delve into different cultures, ideas, and discover more about myself.
My personality is brimming with curiosity and positivity. I enjoy taking on various challenges and always strive to respect diverse opinions, even when they differ from my own.
Ever since I was young, I have been fascinated by international cultural exchanges. I have studied English, Arabic, Chinese, Indonesian, and Thai. Learning languages is incredibly intriguing as it offers insights into the history and culture of each country.
Since high school, I have been involved in community projects, collaborating with ethnic minority villages in Thailand to construct schools and dams that were needed. Additionally, in Japan, I have assisted my friends in renovating old houses to create a guest house for their art projects.
Recently, I spent a year living and working at a hostel in Osaka. My responsibilities included bed making, cleaning, managing hostel's Instagram account, and providing guest information.
Furthermore, I'm a henna and jagua tattoo artist. I have a deep passion for painting and designing.
I've been learning to play the piano since I was young and possess a relative pitch. In the future, I aspire to utilise this skill to create music.
Having resided in a hostel, I have had the opportunity to meet guests from all corners of the globe on a daily basis. Now, I believe it's my turn to venture abroad. I'm planning to bid farewell to the the place I love and embark on a journey to explore the world.
I have a deep interest in children's education, and I spent one year working as an after-school teacher at an international kindergarten in Japan. Interacting with the children helped me further develop my creativity, and I grew even more passionate about arts and crafts, especially those that engage the five senses. I also worked as a music teacher, where I taught the children songs using the piano and led simple dance classes. I would love to bring this experience into a Workaway opportunity and continue to share my passion for education and creativityIntereses

Que habilidades tienes?
I can speak Japanese and English. I am a native Japanese speaker, and learned English through self-study and traveling. (When I was little, I loved Hannah Montana on Disney Channel, and I dreamed of talking to her, so I studied English so hard.lol)
I studied Arabic for three years in high school because I was interested in Middle Eastern culture. I can read and write Arabic.
In Thailand, I taught Japanese language classes to Thai minority children at school. I played a lot with the children using Thai and Japanese.
I took Chinese and Indonesian classes at university, so I studied a little.
I want to learn many other languages and expand my world!
I learned Japanese calligraphy when I was little, so I want to spread the attraction of Japanese calligraphy to the world.
And, I really like drawing, writing letters, painting and designing things.
As a henna tattoo artist, I have painted over 100 people, men and women of all ages. I challenged Maternity body art this year.
I worked at a hostel for over a year, so I did a lot of cleaning and bed making. I met guests from all over the world every day and developed my communication skills. I tried to make every day better by talking with the guests so that the guests could stay in the best conditions.
In Thailand, I used to work in banana plantations, build dams by transporting stones, and build houses by cutting trees, so I love primitive work and the outdoors. In Japan, I helped my friend renovate an old Japanese house for making art hotel!Edad
