Hi! I am an American who has been living in Berlin for 5 years, and I want to do a Workaway for 3 weeks in September / beginning of October.

I am finishing the Camino de Santiago (Norte), and I really love northern Spain. I begin a PhD program in Berlin in October, and I am looking for Workaway for September to learn Spanish (I am a beginner), be in a beautiful landscape, be exposed to a new culture, and help with a project. I am most interested in physical work - building something, restoring a house, farm work, etc. I also can help with some childcare, I am a native English speaker, but I would also like to be exposed to Spanish.

My ideal Workaway job would be to help refurbish an old house or old furniture. I grew up in an old house, and I have a lot of respect and appreciation for quality building and craftsmanship. I also have helped on a farm - building a fence, painting, and doing other maintenance tasks. I begin a PhD in bioinformatics in October in Berlin, so I have computer skills, but I do not want to spend my time in front of a computer.

I have lived in Berlin for the last five years, and I would like to spend time in a quieter place close to nature. Living with a family, or with a few other Workawayers, sounds nice to me. I would like to learn some basic Spanish and be exposed to a new culture.

I am finishing the Camino de Santiago right now, and would like to spend an about a month doing Workaway in September / early October. I am an easygoing person, and the people around me are very important to me.
