Hey! I’m Sarah, an Irish girl with a huge love for animals and anything creative or nature centred. I first visited Canada last year (the Rockies and Nova Scotia) and completely fell in love with EVERYTHING! The scenery, lifestyle, and of course the people. I’m returning this May–July to volunteer, explore Alberta and BC, and immerse myself in rural and western culture, with the hope of applying for a visa next year.

Animals are a huge part of my life. I absolutely adore dogs and horses, but I’m always excited to learn about and work with other animals too. I have three crazy dogs of my own—two cheeky Jack Russells and one energetic Collie! I grew up around horses, helping a neighbour with grooming, mucking out, general care, and riding. While I haven’t worked with horses much in recent years, my passion is still very strong and I’m very keen to rebuild my confidence and skills. I’m especially interested in western riding, natural horsemanship, liberty work, and experiencing authentic ranch life—something that’s very limited in Ireland. Living the “cowgirl” lifestyle (and maybe even attending a rodeo!) would be a dream.

I currently run my own small business specialising in adventure-proof apparel for dogs and their owners. Through this, I’ve developed a broad and practical skill set that I love sharing when useful. I have strong experience in social media, photography, content creation, product design, and general admin, and I’m comfortable helping with online presence, organisation, or creative projects. I’m also very hands-on and practical—I grew up in a DIY household, studied technology and design, and enjoy helping with repairs, small builds, interior projects, and learning to use tools.

I enjoy a mix of physical and creative work. While I do have some chronic health issues, I manage them well and simply benefit from flexibility and occasional breaks. I’m reliable, motivated, and always get the job done—if anything, my health challenges have made me more determined. I actually started my business during one of the toughest periods of my health, which I’m very proud of.

Personality-wise, I’m determined, kind, and caring. I’m a good mix of independent and sociable, love being outdoors & enjoy learning from and working with others. I’m comfortable in rural and remote locations, have a full driver’s licence, and have driven in Canada before.

I’m hoping to stay around 2–4 weeks per place, but I’m flexible for the right fit. I’m particularly interested in animal-based placements such as ranches or rescues. If you’re looking for someone who truly cares about animals, brings a positive attitude, and is happy to help wherever needed, I’d love to connect.

-Dog care and basic dog training, including high-energy breeds
-Calm, patient, and confident around animals
-Horse care experience (limited/rusty): grooming, feeding, mucking out, tacking up; keen to learn and rebuild confidence
-Painting, basic woodworking, DIY projects, and general maintenance. I am Comfortable using hand tools and some power tools and willing to learn new practical skills
-Beginner leatherwork: I recently completed a leather tooling class and would love to further my skills; Highly experienced in working with Biothane and hardware
-Website management (Shopify, adaptable), photography, and social media content creation
- front facing business skills, working with the public
-General admin, organisation, and customer communication
-Cooking and baking; helping with daily routines and chores
-Respectful, tidy, and considerate housemate
-Comfortable living in shared, rural, or remote environments
-Reliable, responsible, and flexible with a strong work ethic

-Able to work independently; calm and positive when plans change
