Hey I'm Sam, currently super flexible, happy to travel just about anywhere. Looking to learn about new cultures and meet easy-going, like minded-people!

  • Descripción

Hey! We’re Sam, 23 and Vitalia, 24, an outgoing and friendly couple from the UK. Our professions are in veterinary and community-event organisation. We’re both easygoing, hardworking and big food lovers! This August, we're looking to apply for a Workaway project to experience a new culture, whilst helping out and getting hands-on with some volunteering work.

Hi, I’m Vitalia, a newly qualified vet from the University of Surrey. I’ve volunteered on animal rescue projects around the world, including in India and the UK, where I assisted with the care and rehabilitation of street animals, feeding, providing basic medical care, helping with surgery, and ensuring sanitation. I’ve also volunteered for homeless charities, worked as a childminder, and helped out at music festivals.

And I’m Sam. I recently graduated with a degree in Music Technology, and I’ve worked as a manager at a community arts theatre. I love creative, hands-on work and I’m always looking to build new practical skills. I’ve volunteered at music festivals, community arts centres and have organised my own charity events.

We’re flexible, responsible and looking forward to help with a Workaway project this summer. Here are just some of the areas we’re happy to help with:

    Animal care & welfare
    House/pet sitting
    Gardening
    Cooking & kitchen help
    Hosting, cleaning, or reception tasks
    Community outreach
    Festival or event support
    Working with children
Any other hands-on or people-based roles

  • Que habilidades tienes?

I bring a wide range of organisational, practical and technical skills developed through both professional and volunteer experience.

In 2023, I began volunteering at a local community arts centre, where I assisted with various events, day-to-day operations, marketing strategy and community outreach. This role gave me insight into the operations of live community theatre. I gained hands-on experience in areas such as, front-of-house duties, setting up stages, event planning, ticketing and direct interaction with the public.

I was later offered a formal position at the centre, which led to my appointment as Acting Director. In this leadership role, I was responsible for overseeing the entire operation of the centre. My duties included coordinating volunteers, managing cash flow, and ensuring continuous engagement with the local community.

I have also been active in political volunteering during a general election campaign. I supported canvassing efforts and contributed to campaign strategy discussions. My efforts were acknowledged by a sitting British Member of Parliament.

Last summer, I volunteered at the Lost Village festival, working both as a porter and a waiter during the event.

From 2019 to 2020, I ran charity football events in Birmingham. These events were designed to bring the community together while raising funds for multiple causes. My role involved coordinating the events and booking sports venues.

Academically, I hold a First-Class Honours degree from the University of Surrey. I’m also trained in emergency first aid at work, hold a full UK driving license, and have an enhanced DBS certificate.

  • Algo más...

Outside of work and volunteering, I’m really passionate about music. I produce music in my spare time. I’m also a big fan of football, both playing and watching it.

I enjoy cooking, especially trying out new recipes, and I’m always happy to get involved in shared meals or help out in the kitchen.

I also enjoy hiking and spending time outdoors, growing up in the countryside has given me a real appreciation for nature.

I'm sociable, open-minded and always up for new experiences. Whether that's learning a new skills, immersing myself in different cultures, or meeting like-minded people.
