I am half Greek 🇬🇷 and half Italian 🇮🇹, and I speak both languages. While growing up I also traveled around quite a lot 🌍 around the Americas, during which time I was also immersed in the Latino cultures 🕺 🪇 and so I have also been speaking both Spanish and English since an early age. Most of the last decade I have spent living and working between the Mediterranean 🌍 and South America 🌎, during which time I also learned some Portuguese as well, or "Brazilian" as one friend from Recife corrected me 😆, and which I hope to improve more this year, which would be language number five.

Shortly after graduation from university 🎓 I started to work on freelance projects and I subsequently became an independent "digital nomad" 💻 🌏 and effectively a perpetual traveler ✈️. By education and profession, I am a systems engineer 🖧🌐📊, and my most recent projects have focused on website development, Linux web-servers, and data security 🔐. I presently work remotely part-time, approximately 12 hours per week, with no fixed schedule. I usually tend to concentrate better in the evenings 🌃, a couple hours right after dinner, so this should not interfere with daytime tasks. After several years of working this way, I have become accustomed to this lifestyle and I have achieved a balance between travel, work duties, and personal commitments.

For most of my life I have lived with others, including boarding school, university dorms, shared apartments, and 60+ hostels throughout the years; needless to say, I have had to interact with almost every type of person, and after having various experiences throughout the years, both positive and negative, my expected mutual "guidelines of engagement" are as follows:

• Respect: Treat others the way you want to be treated.

• Integrity: If you say it, do your best to do what you say, or apologise.

• Communication: Be explicit and clear in what you say, without assuming anything.


Today, as an urban nomad 💻 🌏 for many years, I have spent most of my time travelling ✈️ throughout Europe and the Americas, working primarily from the following cities and their metropolitan areas:

Over the years, as part of my extended stays in and around these metropolitan areas, I have occasionally done "volunteer" work in exchange for lodging 🛌 and food 🥑🧇🥗 (the basic pre-requisites), and at times also tips/gifts 🎁 or remuneration 💰. And although this type of work is not financially "necessary" for me, I enjoy these type of direct exchanges 🤝 and the different experiences that each one provides, especially since my regular work is almost all performed via the computer, so in contrast, having the opportunity to work more in person gives me a much-appreciated break from constantly looking at the screen.

I have various skills, all based in reading, writing, arithmetic, experiential knowledge, practical application, and an insatiable curiosity, including but not limited to the following:

Outside of compensated positions, I have successfully completed various projects for family and friends, including but not limited to the following:

• Maintenance 🔧 (painting walls, repairing windows and doors, assembling furniture, cutting fire wood, maintaining a swimming pool)

• Electrical work ⚡️ (wrapping and installing wires/cables, interpreting diagrams, handling circuit breakers, using a multimeter)

• Mechanics 🛠️ (replacing gearbox clutches, timing belts, brake pads/discs/fluid, alternators, radiators/coolant, starter motors)

• Construction 🏗️ (excavating, making/using cement, installing piping systems, lifting heavy objects via pulleys, sealing pipes)

• Gardening 🌿 (cutting grass, weeding/tilling, planting trees, creating garden foundations, laying mulch, weed-whacking)


Once I also assisted a friend of a friend to restore the entire lower exterior of his large sail boat, rated at 38-tonnes per IOR standards, which included performing the following work on the hull, rudder, and propeller:

• 🎨 Resurfaced lower-hull with electric sander and painted with biocide-treated paint

• 🛠️ Repaired rub-rails (removed and replaced stripped screws, performed anti-oxidation treatment with rust removal, caulk, and silicone sealant)

• 🛡️ Removed old decals with heat gun and acetone, patched blemishes with epoxy compound, resurfaced by sanding, rinsed with water, cleaned with denatured alcohol, then finished with marine epoxy paint

Afterwards, as one of the onboard crew members, I assisted with successful navigation ⛵ across 500 nautical miles of open ocean, over the course of 1 week, attentively raising and lowering each respective sail (mizzen, main, stay, genoa), by managing their corresponding rope lines (sheet, halyard, reefing, etc.) via winches and knots (bowline, hitches, cleats, etc.)


Furthermore, I also have a lot of applied experience in the following areas of more "soft" skills (more details below):
