Hi! We’re Michael and Romy, an American-Dutch couple who recently left our advertising and marketing jobs behind to embark on a world adventure - with no end in sight.

Seven years ago, we met by pure chance in Missouri while I (Romy) was on a solo U.S. trip. Fast forward: Michael moved to Amsterdam, and after five incredible years together, we’re ready for our next chapter—traveling, connecting, and giving back to the amazing communities we’re lucky enough to visit.

We’re passionate about sustainability and want to make our travels meaningful by working with locals, learning new skills, and contributing wherever we can. What makes us tick? Meeting new people, soaking up the outdoors, and whipping up vegetarian or vegan meals (bonus points if we get to share them with you!).

While we’re a team, we each bring our own unique skills and quirks:
- Michael loves hands-on work, from pottery to gardening and planting trees (he’s more enthusiasm than expertise here, but hey, he’s eager). He’s also annoyingly good at just about any sport he tries, loves to experiment in the kitchen, and is an excellent listener.
- I (Romy) am a natural planner with an eye for aesthetics (or at least I tell myself that). In my downtime, you’ll find me doing yoga, taking swimming lessons to perfect my breaststroke and freestyle, dancing (enthusiastically, not expertly—ha!) and figuring out how to play the bass.

Que habilidades tienes?

Between us, we bring a wide range of skills, hands-on experience, and a whole lot of enthusiasm to help wherever it’s needed. Michael is a native English speaker and copywriter with a love for hands-on work. He has experience in landscaping, painting, and tackling small house projects, and he’s always eager to get his hands dirty. He’s also great with kids—he coached a kids' baseball team—and is happy to teach English or assist with copywriting if needed.

I have a background in hotel and event management, which makes me an ideal fit for welcoming guests, managing accommodations, and coordinating logistics. While I may have less experience with hands-on work compared to Michael, I’ve always enjoyed getting my hands into home improvement projects and am keen to learn more. I also have extensive experience with children through various babysitting jobs, including caring for a child with a disability.

On top of that, we both absolutely love animals! We've had several housesitting gigs where we took care of cats and dogs, so if you need some extra help with your furry friends, we’re more than happy to lend a hand.

In addition to our hands-on skills, we’re also happy to share our professional expertise—whether it’s brainstorming marketing ideas, teaching language skills, or bringing our combined knowledge of advertising and branding to your project.

We’re ready to jump in, learn new skills, and help make your project or household run smoothly!
