Welcome to my profile, I'm McKenna.

Let me tell you a bit about my personality. I am very considerate, clean, organized, communicative, supportive, responsible, reflective and excited to learn. I've gone through some big life changes in the past couple of years that have really stretched me and taught me how to trust myself, though I am always learning more. I love to write, practice mindfulness and am aiming to live a simple yet adventurous life that I love.

I have years of experience working in multilingual environments and teaching English to children and adults. I love moments with people where we connect over cultures and language in shared learning. While I'd be more than excited to teach English as a Workaway opportunity, this isn't my only desire. I want to try new things!

I want to learn more about: communal living, meditation, holistic/herbal remedies, languages, different styles of dancing, gardening/farming/permaculture, cob/mud home construction, living off grid, household maintenance, tourism/hospitality management and whatever you are willing to teach me.

One thing people who know me often say is, “You’d be great at *this* job.” Whether it’s a completely different type of work, the common thread is usually the same: supporting leadership, building positive relationships, creating organization, and staying focused on the goal are skills that come naturally to me and genuinely energize me. It's even more powerful if it's a project or mission I am passionate about and feel proud of working for. What is the mission behind your project? Do you and your team carry the same passion?

I hope to connect with you, locals and other travelers while working with your project. During my time off, you might find me exploring, writing, or job searching. I'm very open to spending my time off getting to know you, your family or community more because connection is important to me. At the same time, I value alone time where I can recharge my batteries, and having a clean and private space to do that is advantageous to me, and you! I look forward to finding a balance.

It’s important to me to feel that there is a genuine interest in getting to know one another, sharing experiences, and connecting on a deeper level. I value hosts who are curious, emotionally open, and see their volunteers as people first.

Also, I am absolutely petrified of snakes! It's something I am trying to face but if where you live has a lot of snakes, let's talk about a plan so I feel safe and supported.
