Descripción
Hey there,
My name is Luis. I was born and raised in Mexico, and I hold dual citizenship: Mexican and Spanish. Since 2018, I have been living between Mexico and Germany.
I studied Aeronautical Engineering; however, although I completed all of my coursework, I never obtained my degree or pursued a career in that field.
After finishing university and before moving to Germany, I worked with my father in his small industrial maintenance company. There, I taught myself how to weld and machine metal parts using a lathe and a semi-automatic milling machine.
In Germany, I have mainly worked in construction and maintenance on a farm, although I am currently employed at a bakery. One thing that defines me is my passion for learning and trying new things. That is exactly why I learned welding and bread baking. I believe you never know when a skill may become useful. Who knows—perhaps one day I will be baking artisanal bread at home to sell within my community or working as a metal fabricator.
Before returning to Germany, I began pursuing a second bachelor's degree with the goal of becoming a Spanish teacher for foreign learners. I only have one semester left to complete; however, I have temporarily paused my studies because the bakery where I work lost one of its bakers. As a result, the workload increased significantly, and the remaining two bakers, me and a friend, had to divide all the responsibilities between us.
At the same time, I also worked in a small electronics repair workshop, where I was responsible for repairing the electronic circuit boards of industrial sewing machines.
At this stage of my career, I am interested in changing fields once again. I would like to learn more about the hospitality and/or culinary industry.
I consider myself a hardworking person with strong attention to detail, and I adapt easily to new environments and different situations. -

Que habilidades tienes?
In the industrial field, I learned to weld using electric arc, MIG (wire-feed), and TIG (tungsten) welding processes, as well as how to operate a wide variety of hand and power tools. As I mentioned earlier, I was responsible for manufacturing metal parts using a lathe and a milling machine.
In the construction field, much like in my father's workshop, I was largely self-taught. I learned through hands-on experience and the guidance of the people I worked with in Germany. There, I learned how to install drywall mounted on particleboard panels, which were attached to a wooden stud frame. I also gained experience installing plumbing systems, including potable water, heating systems, and gray water drainage.
In the field of electronics, I was responsible for repairing electronic circuit boards. At first, I was simply instructed which components to replace because the failures were usually recurring. Later, using the basic knowledge I had acquired at university through courses in basic and digital electronics, I began analyzing the different circuit boards myself and was able to identify additional faults. To be honest, however, the machinery was relatively old, so the electronics were fairly simple and did not involve highly complex microprocessors.
Finally, there is the bakery. What can I say? It was another field where I learned primarily through trial and error. I started by helping with cleaning, then I was asked to assist with mixing ingredients, later with shaping bread rolls, and eventually I was trusted to knead the dough and shape sandwich loaves and artisan breads. We mainly bake sourdough bread, although the bread rolls, white bread, and baguettes are made with commercial yeast.
It is also worth mentioning that I have always enjoyed cooking. At one point, I even considered studying gastronomy. However, I was ultimately more fascinated by the engineering involved in making a machine weighing several tons take flight, as well as by the excitement of moving away from home to study on my own—something that is not very common in Mexico. Since that experience, I have developed a passion for starting a new life every few years and embracing new adventures. -
