Hello future hosts and hopefully future friends!!

I like to volunteer when travelling as I meet people I'd otherwise never meet, have experiences I'd otherwise not have and just generally get to have the most amazing adventures, plus I love people and hearing their stories so this is my favourite way to travel!
I volunteered in a Buddhist monastery in Myanmar which was an amazing experience, I've also travelled and volunteered in India, Turkey, Sri Lanka and Mexico. Outside of volunteering I've been fortunate to visit many other countries.
I am studying Ayurveda online and have come to India to fully immerse myself in the culture and history to better my understanding of Ayurveda. I'm currently in the north - Rishikesh. I'd really like to be in an environment that is aligned with my course (health and wellbeing). I'm also a Reiki Practitioner and would be happy to skill/treatment swap!! :)

I have experience in assisting chefs on retreats - mainly vegan, veggie, gf, rsf and some raw deserts. I love cooking and I'm always happy I'm a kitchen, my favourite cuisines are middle eastern & Indian.

I'd love to meet like-minded people, interesting people, people with stories to tell and with wisdom to share.

I don't volunteer for 'free holidays' I volunteer because I love the exchange in energy, to help people and gain skills, friends and adventures along the way. I am a hard worker (in the UK we'd say a grafter) but I also believe in working smart not hard, so I'm constantly looking for solutions in making processes more efficient.

I am super interested in personal and spiritual development, being able to express myself creatively, holistic health practices, nutrition, astrology, self-sufficient living and alternative healing practices. I love learning and experiences that will enable me to grow as a human.
One thing you need to know about me is that I LOVE THE SEA 🧜‍♀️, or any open source of water for that matter (but mainly the sea). I swim in the sea daily, paddle board as much as I can & started to learn how to sail in 2020.

I'm pretty good with most dexterous tasks and I've done quite a bit of DIY and have some experience in construction.

I like to live by a simple philosophy, that what you put out into the universe you will receive and that there is great power in words, so I like to speak things into existence, use words carefully, treat people how I would like to be treated and respect the earth and all that it provides. I am a very open person and like to meet people where they are without judgement.

I don't drink (on the very! rare occasion I would) or party, but have nothing against those who do. Generally prefer to be in sober environments as I feel that's when people are their most authentic selves.

I love having the opportunity to tap into my inner child, getting to explore, use my imagination and get creative, whilst not taking life too seriously.
I opened a community centre for refugees in Greece in 2016 amidst the peak of the refugee crisis and got to hang out, entertain, teach and cook with loads of AMAZING children which was the highlight of this experience 🫶

I've covered a lot of ground in my 15 years of working within hospitality, entertainment, sales & business management and development (skills listed below) . I also set up a community centre with a friend for refugees in Greece. At the centre I cooked, taught, built and managed the construction of two classrooms and a kitchen, organised workshops, cleaned, cooked and managed the centre. From this and lots of other work experience I have a wide variety of skills that I would love to share and I'm even more eager to learn new skills.
