Warmest welcome to future hosts and new friends.

My name is Lucie and I’m from a small beachside town in New Zealand.
After years of living in the big city of London i needed to escape the rat race and go find my next adventure through Central and South America .

I’m a free spirit with a sense of community and purpose. I’m not afraid of hard work and love to learn new skills and push myself. I'm easy going and love to speak to people and hear their stories. I also make origami and love to teach children the beauty of paper folding

My goals of helping others, love of animals and taking care of the environment are fuelling my dream to travel, learn and indulge into every beautiful country I come across.

Although I am new to work-aways, I love the idea of community and its values. I would feel very fortunate to experience this with you. It is not necessarily what I can offer others but the importance of life lessons I can take away.

I have spent many years in hospitality, which has given me a range of skills including team building, problem solving and people skills.
On top of that, I love to cook.
As much as I have loved hospitality I am very interested in learning new skills, challenging myself and making a difference.

I believe that you are not living unless you are learning every day.

I have grown up in New Zealand in a small town by the sea and spent a lot of time on my family’s farm. My family were hunter / gatherers which meant that they would fish , hunt and grow all their own produce. Growing up in such a way has given me a big love of nature and animals. It has allowed me to understand the importance of sustainably sourcing our own food and the impact it has on the environment. Also the sense of community of being able to offer food to your neighbours as an exchange of good will. I have worked as a chef for all of my life but standing in the kitchen all day isn’t fulfilling what I feel is the purpose for my future.

It’s been my dream to volunteer and help others and I look forward to joining a team of like minded individuals.

Over the years in hospitality we have gained a range of skills such as customer service, general cleaning and cooking.

We are big nature and animal lovers. We love gardening and don't mind getting stuck in the mud.

We're quick learners and open to learning new skills such as painting and decorating , carpentry , languages and general handy work.

We're are very easy going and get along well with kids.
