Hello to all the lovely and interesting people of Workaway!

I'm Krystal, a New York City native of Honduran and Anglo-Indian descent. Growing up, I experienced a duality of culture and ideologies bestowed upon me by my family and environment. When I was younger, it was difficult to come to terms with the extent of my ethnic diversity, feeling like a black sheep... Fortunately, I grew up in NYC! My background has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of culture and a great sense of open-mindedness. I'm extremely grateful to have formed relationships with people from all backgrounds, sharing my unique perspective with them as they gave me their own insight.

I've been lucky enough to visit many beautiful places in my short lifetime, including Honduras, Costa Rica, Canada, Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Czech Republic, Switzerland and Australia! I've seen crystal clear beaches and breathtaking snow-capped mountains, centuries-old churches, and state-of-the-art skyscrapers. My travel experiences have been the highlights of my life, and I hope to use them as a means of self-development, to broaden my horizons and enlighten my soul.

I'm currently studying Environmental Science, Anthropology and French at New York University, aspiring towards more knowledge of nature regeneration/permaculture. I've done several unpaid internships in the environmental field, and I absolutely love contributing to purpose-driven non-profits. At the moment, I am finishing my studies in NYC until May 2024.

Sustainable living is my dream. I feel most at peace around nature and animals. I also love dancing and have trained professionally in ballet, modern and various styles for 8 years. Now, I'm more of an ecstatic dancer & yogi :)

I've also dabbled in several paid positions (receptionist, farmer's markets, etc), which have highly improved my communication, administrative, and problem-solving skills.

I've always considered myself very passionate and independent, yet I'd like to grow into an even kinder, more thoughtful human being, and I believe that Workaway is the perfect opportunity for this.
