Hi there.

My name is Jakob and I´m 33 years old.
I have a BA in social pedagogy. And have worked in many different areas. Worked with homeless people, people with disabilities, gardening, postman, factory and so on.

In my spare time I work do gardening/ maintenance for different people. Or help on the farms for my relatives.

I like to experience different places and meet new people.
I see myself as friendly and trustworthy.

I´m a very practical working guy. I like the hard work and don´t mind to get my hands dirty.
I also like animals and would like to work with them too.
I am very teachable - so I´m not affraid to try new things. And hope to get knowledge from my work.

I was lucky to spend 2-3 weeks in this little oasis in Sicily. I enjoyed to be a part of a good community lifestyle. Where the people and work balance was in focus. There was a lot of freedom to do the tasks you found interesting or skills you wanted to improve. All the time with safety and community in mind.

Jakob was a great guest. Easy going, hard working, communicative, and interested in meeting new people and discovering new cultures (we are from many different cultures in the Abbey!). He also has a witty sense of humour, which was fun! We highly recommend him.

I had two wonderful weeks at the Abbey. The days are scheduled, so you are not in doubt when and where to work. Its very easy to tap i to their daily rhythm. The tasks was very different and interesting. From cutting grass, helping put up tents, working in the apple orchard, helping with the cheese making, and lots more.

I was lucky to have my 10 days of summer vacation at the farm. And it was just a perfect place to do.

What a great experience. This is a very nice place to do Workaway. The work is fairly easy and Sean does a great job to run the hostel and making sure you not working more than promised. I was happy that Lillian wanted my help, even it only was for about 10 days. The work was easy enough and sometimes hot. But that was to expect when it's south Europe:) most days the work is the morning and in the afternoon. Jakob was an excellent guest. He enjoyed keeping busy, and was very reliable. He is easy going, communicates his needs well, and worked great alongside another guest helper. We enjoyed his dry sense of humor. Most importantly, he treated our animals with respect. Even Frida! Thanks, Jakob!
