Hey, I'm Carmen (71)…. Yes…. and still fit, totally curious and excited about the most diverse work, that can be found at Workaway.
For me it was more or less a coincidence that I discovered the Workaway side. Because finally I had found what I had been looking for years ! No longer being a tourist, getting to know people, different countries, landscapes, languages…. And above all…. Living with them, being part of what they do …fantastic !

Many years, me and my life partner visit Norway. We were overwhelmed by Scandi-navia, nature and the people. Since then the north has captivated me. I love the snow, the rain, the rough air, the light, the mentality of the people, just eve-rything. The south is of course also beautiful, but now it's too hot for me.

My first experience. I was working with Huskys, was 6 weeks on a farm in Finland and I loved these dogs. I won't forget a single one. A wonderful experience was also my stay in Ireland by a bike rental company, where I cleaned bikes every day, also ok.
My stays in Alaska were overwhelming, where I helped on an oyster farm. I will always remember the experiences with whales, sea otters, wolves and bears and the kind people I met. Fresh fish and shrimp, eating oysters was a big extra. I had never seen that before.

I also like to take care of the house and children and do gardening.
I like manual work and I don't act too stupid, I have always repaired, painted and hammered a lot myself.

I am a financial economist by profession and mainly worked in this branch.

Art, music, painting, photography are the things, that interest me a lot, which I do as a hobby. I really enjoy taking naturematerials from the places I was with and creating something out of them at home. For example picture frame (photo).

I live in Berlin with 2 cats (photo: Coco & Chanel), which I love very much. Have a daughter, 43 years. From time to time I still work on my computer from home.
Otherwise, I am an optimistic person, I like to laugh, can live without electricity and running water, and I don't need any other luxury, it should only be cozy and clean.

In my over 35 years of professional life I was employed in administration, as a financial administrator in a vocational training facility. But my passion was actually becoming an actor and traveling the world....:-)
