My name is Gianna and I'm an environmentalist, traveler, and recent university graduate. I was born in Mexico and raised in Michigan, USA. I'm bilingual with Spanish and English, and have a strong love for both the cultures I've been raised in. I pursued engineering in college and graduated in April 2023; I hope to use my degree after traveling to bring meaningful, sustainable change to the world. I love to cook and bake as well as spend a lot of time outdoors through hiking, skiing, kayaking, you name it. The most joy I get, though, is spending time with my loved ones and meeting new people to develop genuine connections.

I'm pretty talkative, a fast learner, and love to try new things! I want to do workaway after my graduation to gain a new perspective on culture and sustainability, work in an environment and role I haven't experienced before, and explore a beautiful corner of the world. I want to feel like a part of the community I join; I can contribute problem-solving skills from my engineering background, and, from camp counseling, skills working outdoors with children and some animals. I also want to travel and do excursions around the region I am in! My plan is to spend over a month with workaway, but I have the flexibility if I find a fulfilling opportunity that I want to extend. All of this feeds my desire to get out of my comfort zone and do workaday while traveling.

Me llamo Gianna y soy una ambientalista, viajera, y graduada reciente de la universidad. Nací en México y crecí en Michigan, EEUU. Soy bilingüe en español e inglés, y tengo un amor muy fuerte por ambas culturas que he tenido por toda mi vida. Estudié ingeniería en la universidad y me gradué en abril 2023; quiero usar mi licenciatura después de viajar para llevar cambios sostenibles y significados al mundo. Me encanta cocinar y hornear, además de pasar mucho tiempo haciendo senderismo, esquiando, haciendo kayak, y todo. Pero, lo que me hace más feliz es pasar tiempo con mis amados y conocer nuevas personas para desenrollar conexiones sinceras.

Soy bastante habladora, aprendo muy rápido, y me encanta tratar nuevas cosas! Quiero hacer workaway después de mi graduación para ganar una perspectiva nueva sobre la cultura y sostenibilidad, trabajar en un papel y un ambiente que nunca he experienciado, y explorar un nuevo rincón hermoso del mundo. Quiero sentir parte de la comunidad que uniré; puedo ofrecer aptitud en la resolución de problemas desde mi experiencia en ingeniería y, con mi experiencia de monitor un campamento, aptitud trabajando afuera con niños y ciertos animales. También quiero viajar y hacer excursiones alrededor de la región donde estará! Mi plan es pasar mas que un mes con workaway, pero tengo la flexibilidad si encuentro una oportunidad satisfactoria que quiero extender. Todo esto me da ganas de salir de mi zona de confort y hacer workaway cuando estoy viajando.

My degree was in engineering so I have a lot of abilities to problem solve and work safely with food, small tools, and new systems. I'm a very fast learner, and I'm excited to try new things my host may need help with. I've worked as a camp counselor where I worked with children and, sometimes, barn animals. I've camped a lot in my life and know how to live with little to no electricity, water, internet, etc.

Mi licenciatura fuera en ingeniería y entonces tengo muchas habilidades para resolver problemas y trabajar con seguridad con comida, herramientas pequeñas, y sistemas nuevas. Aprendo muy rápido, y estoy entusiasmada para tratar nuevas cosas que mi anfitrión necesita. He trabajado como un monitor del campamento con niños y, a veces, animales. También he ido acampar muchas veces y se como vivir sin mucha electricidad, agua, internet, etc.

I have a big fear of spiders; no one understands the extent until they see me experience. While it is something I want to work on, and some encounters won't deter me from working on a farm, I hope that my host will be understanding and kind about my fear.

Tengo una fobia de arañas; nadie lo entiende totalmente antes de verme sufrirlo. Aunque es una cosa que quiero mejorar, y algunas encuentras no me van a impedir trabajar en la granja, espero que mi anfitrión será comprensivo y amable sobre mi miedo.
