Dear Workaway Hosts,

We are Flora and Florian, a curious couple from France, ready to embark on a new journey in South East Asia from October 2025.

We are easygoing people who like hiking, skiing, cooking (and eating!), playing badminton, having fun, learning, going to cultural events and having quieter times. If we had to describe ourselves more personally, we would say that Florian is the "down-to-earth” one and Flora is the “sensitive and creative mind".

We both work in social care, Florian as a behavioral therapist with children and Flora as a clinical psychologist. We find our jobs meaningful but we would like to take a break in our careers to connect with another passion of ours.

We've had the chance to travel in various forms (holidays, backpacking, volunteering in Africa and Asia). We value learning about people, cultures and exploring the world. Each journey makes us grow in some ways and we feel grateful for that.

Our project today is to take our time to travel, experience local life, connect with people, enjoy simple things of life and discover new ones.

Workaway is the perfect match to us to contribute to amazing projects and be connected to our values. We are looking for volunteering experiences close to human beings, nature and animals, and we are open to try things we’ve never done before!

We are conscientious and adaptable people who don’t mind getting their hands dirty. We would be delighted to learn and do jobs in other areas, especially close to nature.

Flora : “I am a trained clinical psychologist and have worked the past few years in the UK for a youth charity and in France for an inpatient eating disorders service. My role is to support the emotional wellbeing of people, through group or one-to-one therapy, using communication and listening skills, analytical skills, therapeutic tools and adaptability. I love this job because I can be spontaneous and creative, while helping people and I never stop learning. I am touched when people trust me enough with their stories. My work method puts the emphasis on helping the person sooth their system and reunite their mind and their body with grounding, breathing and mindfulness techniques. I would be happy to use some of these skills for a project if they might be of any use; but above all, I am willing to help out with anything I can!

Before that, I have done other odd jobs including waitressing, working in the kitchen of a coffee shop, looking after children and housekeeping as an ‘au pair’ and supporting people with learning difficulties during their holidays.”

Florian : “I’m a trained behavioural therapist using ABA (Applied Behavioural Analysis) method to help children with special needs (autism spectrum disorder or attention deficit and/or hyperactivity disorder). My job is about teaching these children skills that will help them in their daily lives and in society. It requires a set of complementary skills : patience, analytical and problem solving skills, creativity and the ability to connect with each child’s own world. It enables me to be both rigorous and playful.

Before that, I’ve done a few summer jobs such as multiskilled hospital operative, factory work, delivering driver and road maintenance worker.”
