Hi! My name is Beatrice. I am an Italian woman, passionate about languages and literature. I spent last two years working as a teacher in high school, which was a great experience for me; at the moment I am having a little pause from work and I would love to take this chance to travel a bit, in a slow and meaningful way. Workaway seems a great idea to have fun while also going a bit deeper into other places' life and habits.

I love cooking, getting to know new people and exploring different places and cultures. I am an outgoing person, familiar with sharing spaces with other people (I used to live with other students and I have been using house sharing apps for years now). I consider myself pretty flexible on a social level: I like sharing time/food/knowledge with people but it's also ok for me to be more descreet and spend time by myself.

I am an Italian Language Teacher, graduated in Linguistics and with a two years experience in Italian L2 Teaching. I could also help with English. I am quite a linguistics nerd so I would love to know more about any language! But for sure it would be nice to improve in the ones I've already studied a little bit (French, Spanish, Catalan, Arabic).

Que habilidades tienes?

1) I am a Italian Language Teacher (L2) so I would love to help you/your family members learn some Italian! But I could help with English as well, especially on a basic level.

2) I love cooking: I grew up in a family where food held a great value and delicious meals were lovingly prepared on an everyday basis so... I just love "la buona cucina". Now my family owns a restaurant and my two sisters ended up being cooks... even if I am the only "not-professional" left in the family, I consider myself a good home-cook, with a great interest in non-Italian cousines as well. I would love to cook for you.

3) I honestly don't have a huge experience with children but I think I could be pretty good at keeping them entertained: I love how their mind and creativity work and I like painting, creating stuff, playing (guitar), singing... we could have a good time together. On the other side, I have more experience with teenagers, thanks to these two years spent teaching. I am not an Education expert but I menaged to have a positive relationship with them.

4) Talking about teenagers: I have been working mainly with "not-accompanied-minors" living in a community. This means they were fragile and not easy to handle boys, which worked great for me on a human level, helping me to develop patience and empathy. I don't have a specific qualification for this, but I'm quite experienced and I would gladly repeat.

5) Last but not least, I have been working as a waitress in a restaurant/wine bar since 2020 so I could see myself helping around in a business like a restaurant/a hostel.

I love good old cinema, anime, music, opera, drawing, painting, vintage clothing and style, tarots, vynil/book/stamp collectioning, reading (many things), photography (still a beginner), wine, art, nature, ice-skating... I am not really a sporty person, but I hardly say no! I love learning new things and I am quite curious.
