Hey :)
I’m Annika, an 18 year old girl from Germany. Having graduated last summer, I'm currently taking a gap year, travelling around New Zealand.
I feel like travelling portrays the best opportunity to widen one's perspective on life!
I love nature, philosophy (I plan on studying it next year :), art, connecting with people and getting to know the world a little better everyday.
I have always dreamed of exploring our planet and getting to know different places, people and cultures!
Even though this is my first time on workaway and also solo travelling, I have already traveled to some countries in the past with family or friends and always loved the experiences.
I am a joyful and motivated person and a quick learning worker, happy to learn new skills and work together or independently on different tasks.
I care a lot about environmental protection and animals, which is why I always love to learn more about and further explore sustainable life. This is also why I eat vegetarian.
I’m also a very adaptable person, always happy to meet new friends and go on adventures! Being in nature, whether it be in the woods, mountains, at the sea shore or watching a sunset, I feel the most happy. I care deeply about the people in my life and think making meaningful connections is one of the most beautiful and important parts of life. I appreciate all of the little wonders and joys of everyday life and nature!
In my free time, I use to meet friends, go hiking or exploring the woods together with my dog, cook and bake, spend time with my family, read books, paint, go bouldering, take photos, play the oboe or do yoga.
I'm looking forward to meet lots of new wonderful people and further explore the beautiful nature in NZ :))))

I recently graduated from high school (did my Abitur) have been working at a supermarket in order to finance my trip through New Zealand.
I speak German and English fluently and also a little French, I tutored some younger pupils while being in school. I love exploring the forest and being outside, no matter what the weather. I am a huge animal lover and take a walk in the forest almost everyday with our family dog.
Cooking as well as baking, especially together with some friends, is something I really enjoy. In general, I love doing creative things like painting and I am passionate about photography, but I’m also not afraid of getting my hands dirty and of course I will always help where I can with daily chores! :)
Most importantly, I am joyful and motivated, always open and looking forward to learning new skills!!
