Aloha!
Our names are Alex and Isabel. We are both 22 years old and just graduated with bachelor degrees from the University of Hawaii. We are eager to learn, explore, and experience the world together. We are very active, love backpacking, rock climbing, surfing and just being outdoors.

Alex:
I was born and raised in Maui, Hawaii, growing up my family lived off grid where I learned to value sustainability and a low-impact lifestyle. Graduating in December with a bachelors of science in natural resources and environmental management I am eager to apply my skills and learn hands on through traveling. I have worked as an electrician laborer, built boat docks, restored/maintained hiking trails and interned as a botany technician this past summer. I love to learn about new landscapes and cultures and would love to share bits of where I come from as well.

Isabel:
I am originally from San Francisco, California and spent majority of my life in a small coastal town right out side of the city. I have lived on the south shore of Oahu for four years and graduated with a degree in Business Entrepreneurship last spring. While being a full time student, I worked at a farm to table restaurant in Honolulu. I am passionate about food security and sustainability in Hawaii. Over the past two and a half years working there, I learnt about Hawaiian food and culture, strengthening the local community, and volunteered at farms connected to the restaurant. I love to travel and have explored much of Europe, but I am excited immerse myself in different cultures. I also lived in Florence, Italy for a semester where I studied international business with a focus on finding sustainable alternatives in the fashion/garment industry. In my free time I enjoy yoga, reading, painting, camping, and being outside.

Que habilidades tienes?

Alex: I am graduating in December from the University of Hawaii with a bachelors of science in natural resources and environmental management. Through my studies I have learned greatly about plant ecology, soil science, conservation management and overall ecosystem functions. I recently interned at Mount Shasta as a botany technician where I developed horticulture, plant identification and data management skills. I have worked years in the tourism industry, from bussing in fine dining restaurants, to a private tour guide, and currently teaching surf lessons. From this I have developed communication, problem solving and customer service skills. I have also worked as an electrician laborer, boat dock maker and with hiking trail maintenance. Through these jobs I have gained experience with power tools, landscape equipment as well as heavy operating machinery.

Isabel:
During my business studies at university, I learned management tactics, organizational skills, and how to develop both professional and personal relationships. I studied accounting, economics, and information technology. While fine tuning my hard skills, I also made time to focus on my other passions like art, specifically ceramics, and sustainability. I have always been a determined and hands-on learner, open to face any challenge that comes my way. As I mentioned earlier, I've worked as a server at a farm to table restaurant for two and a half years. It has taught me people skills, staying calm in stressful situations and invaluable knowledge about Hawaiian food and culture. We also are very active in the community as supporting other local businesses, specifically organic farms. We are expected to participate in work days on farms that we source from, so I have experience planting, harvesting, and laying irrigation systems. Yoga is another passion of mine and although I am not professionally trained, I have been practicing for years and love to share with others.
