Hey everyone!
We’re Patrick and Tini, an adventurous couple from southern Germany currently fulfilling our dream of backpacking the world. We’re on the road for about a year exploring new countries, immersing ourselves in different cultures and meeting amazing people along the way. In New Zealand we’re planning to stay for about 4 months. Therefore we bought a camper van to explore the beautiful country.
With lots of curiosity and a love for learning new things, we’re ready to take on whatever comes our way! ☺️
A little about us:
Patrick:
I’m an engineer who’s taking a year off work to see the world. I love DIY projects and working with my hands. One of my favorite projects was building a wooden barrel sauna with my dad for our garden. Seeing the finished result of something I created is incredibly rewarding.
I tried gardening: I’ve spent time growing vegetables and enjoy it a lot, although I’m still figuring out how to manage quantities! Last year I have planted cucumbers in our greenhouse and suddenly I had probably over 500 cucumbers. I had no idea what to do with them all. So I started giving them away to everyone😅
Tini:
I’m passionate about working with children. I studied social work with the focus on people with disabilities. I worked in a kindergarten during my studies. I love spending time with kids and can help with babysitting, educational activities, or just keeping them entertained! 😜 Around the house I’m happy to assist with gardening, housekeeping, or whatever needs to be done. And I want to improve my English speaking skills 😊
What we share:
We’re both passionate about spending time in nature: Hiking, skiing and climbing are some of the activities we love doing together. Cooking is another big shared passion, and we enjoy creating meals (and of course eating them!😅). Whether we’re in the kitchen or outdoors, we value working together and bringing positive energy to whatever we do. Also spending time with our family and loved ones is really important to us.
We also have plenty of life experience from living independently for many years and are always open to learning new things. Whether it’s helping with children, DIY projects, gardening, housekeeping or something completely new we’re excited to dive in and give it our best!🥰
