Hi! My name is Sylvia. I'm a Taiwanese backpacker who'd spent the past two years working and traveling around Australia. In early 2025, I'd be travelling to New Zealand as a farewell trip before leaving Oceania.

I'm currently in a transitional period of my life when I'm trying to switch to a completely different career path. But since graduating from college, I've been a cook that has worked in both Western and Asian restaurants. Cooking and making dessert would always be my lifelong passion no matter what I do for a living, and it's always a delight for me to share recipes and dishes with friends I meet on this exciting journey we call life.

In addition to food preparation, I'm interested in workaway opportunities that involves working with nature, animals and opportunities to discover more languages and cultures. I also enjoy trying new things and am open to any new experiences that may teach me something.

Personality wise, I'm generally quiet. I like spending my free time reading over a cup of coffee, taking a walk in the forest or in the city, or baking everyone some cookies in the kitchen. But I have a social side too and I love real conversations.

We truly enjoyed Sylvia's visit!
She really was always two steps ahead on what needed doing, and especially worked well with everyone.
