Hello friends,
Baby Spring and I are looking for our first adventure together. Spring recently turned 8 months and I am 39. Her father lives in Mexico and we will be moving there in the future. But in the meantime we need an adventure!
I loved being a Workaway in Mexico, it opened my eyes to community, helping others, and discovering skills I didn't know I had.
During my pregnancy and postpartum I have been doing elderly Homecare work, mainly people with Dementia. I have the same people that I care for now, when I first started. I also started a big garden but the soil really needs to adjust after having been pasture for so many years. I was doing the garden to sell produce at the local farmer's market. Funny thing is I signed up for everything (market wise) and haven't had an produce to sell but I have been making baked treats, spice blends, and drink blends. I love being at the farmer's market and having Spring with me. Spring also comes with me to my Homecare job. I am able to juggle her and getting things clean. My body is strong and I body carry her, she loves seeing everything. My drive is finding things that can keep her with me and not needing daycare.
I am a creative chef and pastry chef at heart. I went to school for Pastry and in the work field I worked my way up to Chef. I tried it all-high end, food trucks, catering, private chef, casual eatery-my career highlight was working on two seasons of the Food Networks CHOPPED. I felt like I reached my highest of hopes but after seeing the extreme food waste I lost my drive for TV
I love herbs and foraging. Weeds are my favorite because they are very medicinal. I recently signed up for a course with an herbalist in making remedies, tinctures and teas. Happy to share and do this together!
Spring is a wonderful happy baby. We co sleep and she only cries to communicate. She is very content and easy-otherwise I don't think I would be doing this! We have been in my parents home for awhile, safe and calm. I am a traveler (too) and I feel she is ready to start branching out.
I love to create. I mainly paint what I am feeling. I have been continually inspired by the folklore in Women Who Run with The Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes. I also write but am a beginner.
Awhile back I did take a break from restaurant world and got curious about carpentry. I took a trade school course and was hired right away after. I say it's been awhile but I feel when my hands get into action and some guidance it will come back to me. :)
I understand the relationship of mentor and the student. I am fully open and not the type to say this is how this should be done. There's a million wonderful different ways to do things and I am happy to learn what you do. I learn very fast and love variety. I am thrilled to be thrown into anything. I find a lesson in everything. Flexible and open minded.
