Hey
We are Sam and Jess! We are both travel lovers and have been all around the world and can’t wait to explore Canada together, meet locals and learn some new skills!
Sam - I have used work away in the past, moving through Australia and meeting some amazing people as I went!
I have been working as a freelance designer the past few years and would love to continue this in Canada! Im also interested in exploring other avenues in my life especially focused on construction and gardening and have been working the last 6 months as a framer. I love being active and working with my hands (pardon the pun) and hope to learn some new skills and meet some cool hosts that love an adventure 😊
I enjoy a variety of activities including (but not limited to) drawing, boarding and guitar, however I love beeing outside and am willing to try most things. Similarly I would love to share any of my skills with you.
Jess - Hi I’m Jess born and bred in Leeds, England. My work has led me to working in various industries but my background is mostly bar management and HR. Now I’m in Canada to experience as much of this beautiful country as I can on a working holiday! I’ve been to Canada before and completely fell in love 😍 mostly for the people and nature so that’s where I plan to spend as much time as possible.
In my spare time I am obsessed with yoga and would love to do my teacher training in the near future, but would love to share my hobby with anyone that’s interested, I also love being outdoors going on hikes, getting my hands dirty and being in nature. One of my goals for workaway is to learn more about gardening, DIY and home renovations. I’m also a good home cook, one of my love languages is cooking/baking for other people and I love trying new recipes!
Other than that I have spent a few years working with children on camping trips in the US so have experience with teen child care.
