I started backpacking around the world in 2013. I spent a lot of time in Latin America, 1 year in Australia and a year and a half in south east Asia. I have been sedentary since the end of 2019 and it is high time to get back on the road!

(I took a course to become a Home Organiser in 2021 - think Marie Kondo or The Home Edit on Netflix - and I would be happy to share my knowledge in decluttering and space optimisation if it is of interest)

My dream is to live close to nature, surrounded by animals, growing my own food. Growing up as a city girl, I still have a lot to learn to make that dream come true, and that is why I am doing this.

Below is some information about the workaways/ volunteering/ jobs I’ve held along the way:

Animal sanctuary in Bolivia (2014): preparing food for the animals (spider monkeys and coatis) and cleaning their environments.

Horse ranch in Argentina (2014) : a lot of cleaning involved, looking after animals, riding horses and welcoming tourists.

Hostel in Santiago de Chile (2014): reception

Hostel in Playa del Carmen, Mexico (2015): organising and executing activities to get the guests involved and create a fun environment.

Hostel in Perth and Motel in Alice Springs (2016): reception

Hostel in Cambodia (2017): reception/bar

I’ve also acquired some gardening experience working on a couple of vineyards in Argentina and Chile, did some painting and cleaning on a coffee farm in Colombia, some planting on a mango farm in Australia. I also worked in a book shop and in a bar in Cambodia.

Do not hesitate to go and help out Javier on his finca. I spent 2 and a half weeks with him, and only left because I had a plane to catch; I had a wonderful time there.
Javi is a lovely person, a great chef and very knowledgeable in many areas- I learnt a lot from him.

Angela and Stefan are a kind, open-hearted couple. You can talk to them about anything. They live on a beautiful piece of land in a valley and took me on some beautiful hikes with their lovely dog, teaching me about the plants growing wild along the way.

Roxy was a revelation. She had a pride in her work that was very refreshing and many of her ideas we have now implemented in the routines and training of other volunteers. She had a great attitude towards the work and a care for the project and the place with an eye for detail that will elevate us further. She will be sorely missed.

Simply the dream job. Very cozy and comfortable hostel which attracts interesting people, and it is located in a beautiful area of Santiago so that you don't feel that you're in a big city yet you're close enough to all the conveniences. I absolutely recommend going to volunteer at Matt's! He is young and easy to get along with and a generous host.
