My name is Rovena Šebánová, and I am 40 years old. At this stage of my life, I find myself searching for a deeper purpose in the world. My soul feels called to do something meaningful, valuable, and truly worthwhile.
In recent years, I have often felt useless and unnecessary in my home country. I have been waiting until my daughter was ready to begin her own independent life so that I could finally take the step of leaving for a while in search of my true purpose.
The idea of volunteering came to me naturally, as I have long been passionate about ecology, nature, and sustainable living. It pains me to see the direction in which society is heading, and I would love to contribute to a meaningful project in the Galápagos.
My background is diverse: I hold a degree in social work with children and youth, as well as a university degree in physiotherapy. I am trained in massage, have taught yoga, led both private and group movement therapy classes, studied permaculture, and have a strong interest in psychology. At heart, I am also an artist, and I love to keep learning and growing.
As a child, I dreamed of working with animals, but life led me along different paths. When I discovered the inspiring projects taking place in the Galápagos, my heart skipped a beat, and since then, my desire to join such meaningful work on the other side of the planet has grown stronger every day.
I believe my qualities—diligence, perseverance, willingness to learn, reliability, and attention to detail—could make me a valuable member of your team.
