Hello, My name is, Rob (Tas) Beattie, single male, active 67 year old.

I have Lived and worked in remote parts of Australia for many years, working on large remote cattle stations in the Queensland Gulf country, Queensland Channel Country and the Northern Territory. Cattle stations, carrying 47,000 - 105,000 head of cattle and up to 120 working horses along with working dogs and house dogs and young children. Living more than 6 hours driving time to the nearest town you have to learn to look after yourself and those around you, learn to get on well with others, to look out for their safety in general as well as your own. Animals rely on people to attend to them and look after them and look out for their welfare. In a small group environment, you need to work together as a unit and plan ahead. Safety is vital when you have no emergency medical care available to you. The Royal Flying Doctor service can take many hours to attend to emergency medical situations so being safety aware is something we all need to have in the back of our minds.

I am used to living and working in isolation without all the modem conveniences and I am comfortable with my life being very simple, no mobile phone service, not having Wi-Fi, no shops or restaurants are not a big deal for me. I am happy for my life to be simple and uncomplicated.

I enjoy being around dogs and working with dogs. Being around animals is something I have done all my life, and I wish to continue that in some way. Animals' help to make the day worthwhile and always put a smile on my face. I have a black and white photo my me at 18 months old on the horse with my father on our family farm having my first riding lesson and can remember being around the chickens, sheep, horses and dogs.

EXPERIENCE WITH DOGS:
Working with and looking after numerous numbers of dogs, working dogs, house dogs, big and small. Feeding, making sure fresh water, not overfeeding, ensuring they get walked and have play time daily, looking for any signs of illness or stress, grooming, always working on understanding their body language, helping them socialise, working with them in their training to walk on a lead, come when called, wanting to walk close to you without pulling on the lead. Keeping the dog's area clean and tidy and just making sure they feel loved and respected. In my opinion, TIME, PATIENCE and CONSISTENCY is vital when it comes to working with dog's and animals in general, in my opinion. I am someone who understands spending a week in this environment is not much good to people. I am happy to look at offering 9-12 weeks. I also understand that this a seven day a week situation and I have been in these situations for a long time during my working life with animals, there are no day's off when it comes to being around animals, things need attending to so I am happy to fit in.

GENERAL:
I have cooked on cattle stations for more than 20 people - meal preparation, cooking, cleaning up and making sure the kitchen area is clean and tidy.

I can cook on an open fire, be safe around children, look after myself and others, keep area neat and tidy. Operate machinery - Road Graders, Front End Loaders, Tractors and use power tools

I have spent time in the Australian Military. I know how to follow instructions, understand the importance of keeping to routines and schedules, working with others as a team member or I can work on my own.

I also have the ability to be flexible. To change as things around me change.

I wake up every morning with a happy outlook. I like to smile and have a laugh, and I have a good sense of humor. I don't take myself too seriously and I can laugh at myself at times.

I have a motor car license as well as a motor bike license.

I am an Australian but also have an EU passport as I am also a Citizen of Malta.

I DON'T SMOKE, I DON'T DRINK, and I DON'T USE DRUG'S.

I enjoy open spaces, being around animals, keeping life simple and enjoying the simple things in life. I am happy to have a conversation and be around people or I can enjoy my own space and my own company. I am not a person who needs mobile phones or computers in my life to enjoy my day. I am a simple type of person and look to enjoy my day for what it is. I like to laugh and also able to laugh at myself and not take myself too seriously. I am flexible in regard to what I do, and I get on well with others. I am always looking to learn more. I consider myself to be a respectful person to others and being aware of other people space and privacy.
