I’m a full time children’s book illustrator now *traveling solo*, since my son is now in college after 8 years of ‘world schooling’ and my wonderful dog is home enjoying her retirement.

The long version:

Hello! I’m Mischa – now traveling solo.
After several amazing years volunteering with my son since 2018, I’m now back in England where he’s started college, and I’m continuing my journey solo. It’s a big shift, but an exciting new chapter.

I’m a full-time, published children’s book illustrator working remotely, so I can bring my creativity wherever I go. I also paint portraits and landscapes, and love to leave a special piece behind as a thank-you gift for my hosts.

My beloved dog Ayda is now too old to travel, so she’s enjoying a slower pace of life at home with my son — and pet/house sitter when I’m away.

A Little Background:

Before working full-time in the arts, I ran a UK nonprofit focused on sustainability and social impact. I studied sustainability leadership with Cambridge University and I’ve spent over a decade combining creativity with purpose through teaching, marketing, and community work, and now continue that through children’s literature and illustration, especially around neurodiversity and inclusion.

What I’m Looking For:

I’m open to Workaway stays where I can contribute meaningfully with people since I’m mostly alone at home working now (it’s quiet!). I can travel anywhere, and can stay for up to a month before I’ll want to get home to my teenage son and dog. I can do a lot within a month since I realize people needs quickly, and adapt fast.
