My name is Miles, and at 34 years young, I thrive as a High School Social Studies Teacher nestled in the vibrant landscape of Southern California. Every day, I have the privilege of guiding and inspiring Multilingual Learners, fostering a rich tapestry of cultures and backgrounds within my classroom. With an innate knack for technology and a passion for connecting with people, I weave a digital thread through my teachings, bridging the gap between the past and the present.

Before embarking on this fulfilling journey in education, I honed my skills in the tangible world of construction, mastering the crafts of masonry, carpentry, and bathroom/kitchen remodels. This diverse background infuses my teaching style with a hands-on approach, creating an immersive learning environment for my students.

During winter breaks and summer recesses, my adventurous spirit beckons me to explore new horizons, to immerse myself in the vibrant tapestry of global cultures. With many of my students tracing their roots back to Central America, my curiosity has been piqued, igniting a fervent desire to delve deeper into the heart of their heritage.

As I embark on my inaugural Workaway experience, I am brimming with excitement for the opportunity to blend work, learning, and cultural immersion. Eager to forge meaningful connections and embrace fresh experiences, I eagerly anticipate the enriching journey that lies ahead.

I have many years of experience in construction including carpentry, masonry, tile setting, and landscaping. I am a hard worker who enjoys projects and being outdoors. After my years in construction I decided to earn a degree in History. I then received a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Currently I am a High School Social Studies Teacher and instructional coach who works with a large population of Multi Lingual Learners. I am great a building and maintaining positive relationships with my colleagues and students !
